Newbie question coming up ... how do you do it?

I've figured out how to place one, etc, and how to operate the bugger, but a friend of mine asked me to watch over his while he's out of town. Right now, all of his are shut down due to depleting the resources, so I'm going to survey some new locations for him, but the only option I get is for Destroying the harvesters, which I don't want to destroy them. Just move 'em.

Also, I remember something about a patch a while ago, but is maintenance and power still wasted if a harvester is moved?

Destroy is how you move them. However, in order to destroy and claim the deed (in other words, be able to use it again) you have to have the appropriate amount of money in maintenance. A medium mineral requires 3k, but the amount varies - it will tell you how much you need when you hit destroy once though. Then add the amount that you need MAKE SURE you have enough in it, and hit destroy again (if within 30 secs, it will redeed - if not you will need to hit destroy a third time). You will lose the mainetance amount - in other words, if you have 4k in maintenance, and it's a medium mineral, and you relocate it you will have only 1k left in maintenance. You will keep all extra power. Hope this makes sense

Maintenance costs go, power stays, and it'll tell me how much I need to re-deed it before I try and destroy it, so I can cancel and make sure that much maintenance is in it.

Okay, another noob question along the same lines.....

Assuming I have admin & hopper rights to a friend's harvesters. If I redeed them and place them on a new resource, do they count against his or my lot limitation?

They count against yours--but only the owner can destroy (or reclaim) an installation.

So in Kaelan's case (watching over a friends while he's gone), his choices after a resource shift would be to turn them off (conserving power & maintenance?) or selecting a different resource?

That's what I did -- moved them to what resources were available. There were still some good ones for each harvester.
