I have finally decided to give up my rank of Master CH. Im just wondering if I should take up artisan... It makes a change from fightin everythin in sight and introduces me to a whole new community. Does anyone else think this is as good idea?
Thanks for the help,
Big Malky

I'm currently a MCH / Artisan ---2 ( surveying tree ), and find that the interest set is quite similar between a CH who wanders the wild, looking for new ( or different ) babies, and a surveyor who wanders the wild, looking for a prime useable spot for harvesters.
I'm actually planning on converting this character to a MCH/Artisan once I finish my FS stuff ( to unlock a second character ), with a MCH / Artisan 4-44 / MWS. It provides me with a decent crafting character, that has some ability to defend himself in the field, a few vendors, and still allows me to survey ( or tame ) things in my roamings when I feel inclined to do so.
Be warned that artisan and their subsequent professions aren't that difficult to train ( a lot of clicking, but other than that not too hard if you have money ), but accumulating resources to get into business can be both time consuming and extremely expensive if you have to buy some rare components. Crafting is a profession that -- based on my limited experience -- takes months or even years to develop the resources necessary to be listed among the better crafters on your server.

Thanks for the future sight on the subject. I think I will still go ahead with it as I quite fancy Architect. It may take years but then again it is more interesting than killing Bols on Dantooine every other day lol.
My kind regards,
Big Malky
