Thread: Stupid question #756349: How do I change my survey range?

I have survey 2, but my survey tool (on I started with 130 days ago) only shows the base range. Do I need a new survey tool or does the range really not increase at survey 2?
Like I said, dumb question 8)

You don't need a new tool. Changing the range of the tool is one of the options under its radial menu. I would expect that by surveying 2, you could change the tool range above the base. But I don't really know.

I thought so too, from the description of survey 2, but I only get the base range option.

Not sure if you tried this, you didn't say..and if you did I apologize 
But you need to change the range on your tool.. it doesn't happen automatically. If you right click on it (so the little menu comes up) it should have something about set range.. that is how you need to change it.

heh! Remember I said it was a stupid question? I had survey 1, just got survey 2, _now_ I have increased range. I'm gonna go buy a dunce cap and bang my head on the wall 8).
