Ive Just Become a Master Artisan and im training to be an Architect.....

But Now Ive Found Myself With No Money not many resources and any money i do make on missions gets eaten up by the small harvesters i have.

I Dont generate enough resources from these harvesters to make a living... in fact they are losing me money.

I Am Master Artisan 4 4 4 4

Medic 3 3 3 0

Brawler 4 1 3 1

Whats The Best thing for me to do because my aim is to be able to either harvest or buy enough resources so that i can be an architect. i seem to be on a loop at the moment and im not moving anywhere fast.

Thankyou !!

For a Master Artisan, my experience was that Swoops are a easy and good source of income. Quality of metal is inconsequential for the most part, so for 8k+ metal, you can make 20k on the bazaars. As a result, you can survey for high concentrations of metals, and use it to generate cash.

The next step would be to upgrade those personal harvesters to mediums, and possibly something to allow you to generate your own power ( windmill or fusion ).

Another option for making easy money with little overhead would be to join hunting groups on Dant, you can make good mission money ( 9k per lair or so ), even if all you do in the group is plink things with a CDEF pistol and stay out of the way.

A last option would be to go into the power generation business, and sell power on the bazaars from windmills ( eventually moving to fusion ). Energy is a commodity product, but tends to sell fairly easily.

I've done all of the above. Dant hunting is the most "un-artisany" way to raise cash, but has been my most successful form of raising capital when I didn't have enough equipment to really do a good job of creating things. After I had the money for some decent harvies, Swoops became my extra source of income, just selling three to five a day went a long way towards getting enough cash to get fusion generators and get into the energy business.

When I was starting out I used to use the Artisan Mission Terminals in Tyrena (Corellia). Grab two mission for about 1000 creds each, pick up the parts, craft the items, buy a round trip ticket to the Island near there (forgot the name sorry) and deliver. Around 1500 creds in a couple of minutes. Not a lot of cash but true Artisan missions.

I did something similar from Mos Eisley to Anchorhead (1200cr for 2 missions, about 2k after the ticket), then Anchorhead to Bestine in a loop (800cr x 2 each way, so a round trip netted me close to 3k).

If you're a mid-tier pilot, you can also hit tatooine or naboo space and tear up some tier 1 fighters for an hour or so. as a 3333 pilot, I looted 30 parts in 30 minutes (not counting the credits looted), which translates to a minimum of 30k income if you sell it all to a chassis dealer. That's 1k per minute and you can't beat that for fundraising anywhere,. What server are you on? I can (or someone properly equipped) can take you up in an MP ship and let you gun for a while. I let My gunners split the cash earnings, and we split the loot proceeds evenly between us.

Hope it helps!

With your brawler, you should be able to take survey missions for 1500-1800 credits each. Find 2 shuttleports that have artisan terminals outside of them, and survey for 3-4 different types of materials that are at least 70% concentration at each port. Then, take 2 survey missions for at least 1500cr each and go to the other port and survey. Take 2 survey missions from there that are at least 1500cr each, and go back to the original port and survey. You can do this until you have some decent credits built up. Another thing that I do is at the shuttleports and starports I go to regularly, find out what has a high concentration there and take survey missions for that every time you go. That way, you can make money on every trip.

Please drop any auction winnings at my vendor on Corellia. It is Abilof Weapons at -1803 2347 just east of the Kor Vella starport or the Fort Qui shuttleport.

Some of my suggestions for you:

1) Resources are king. The best way to makemoney long term are through resources. But to maximize your lots you have got to have Heavy Harvestors to drop. Can't afford that initial investment? I will put some ideas below to make that initial money but here is another option....work a deal with an architect for the heavy harvestors and then agree to harvest resources for him to pay off the harvestors. In this way you will only need to purchase power for them. Maybe do a 80%/20% deal where he gets 80% of what you harvest until you pay off the harvestor. Then use the 20% to sell and that money to purchase power. In this way the architect moves product, gets resources in return that he needs, and you eventually own heavy harvestors.

2) Can't work a deal for heavy harvestors with an architect but need to buy heavy harvestors?? Space mining. I know on my server we have many standing contracts for space resources at 30 to 50 cpu. Why? Because space mining is a fairly slow process and boring for many folks. But even with a basic ship and a basic mining laser you can harvest space minerals, particularly in space such as over Naboo where the bandits you can run into are only Tier 1. If you can afford it get a mining laser/tractor beam/cargo hold for a starfighter. The cargo hold and mining laser are essential....the tractor beam will just speed things up for you. When you get practiced you can harvest 1,550 units of space mineral in about 15 minutes (1,550 is the capacity of a large starfighter cargo hold). 1,550 unit x 30 cpu = $46,500. Assume 3 cycles per hour with 15 min wasted on landing, unloading, etc.. you can generate roughly $140,000 per hour. It's not real exciting but the great thing about space mining, once you have your equipment, is that it does not cost you anything.......no power needed to run your ship, etc....so you can just mine away generating income with no costs.

3) Space loot. Space loot can certainly add up for selling, etc.... If your high enough up on pilot I would suggest running Tier 3 Blacksun missions. Why? Your looking for the mother-load in terms of looting an Illegal Core Booster. These are selling for $2-3 million on my server as they are hard to come by. But with time eventually you should land one. It only takes 1 uber loot harvest to generate the cash you need to buy those harvestors.....1 illegal core boosters = $2 million = 20 heavy harvestors. Keep 9 heavies for your own use (only have 1 lot tied up in a house) and then use the other 11 harvestors to do a lot exchange with someone...drop some static harvestors. If nothing else use the static harvestors to grab minerals for swoops....sell disposable swoops on the bazaar for 20K....or even 16K to generate volume (2 cpu). 2 cpu easily covers your power costs to pay for the statics.

4) With the medic and brawler you have.....run Aukean (sp)Champion missions out on Talus. Only 2 or 3 high level NPC's per lair. Normally you can draw 1 at a time off of the lair. Keep yourself healed and get the npc killed eventually. Loot, loot, loot. Pull the Auk Champion missions at Level 82....you want level 82 NPC's. Good money on these missions but more importantly you can loot some VERY nice AA's...which you would then auction for big cash. Many +8 & +9 AA's are dropped as well as an occasional +15 type AA. I have a buddy on my server that only does these missions.....over and over again. He has now looted two different lightsaber AA's. The first one sold in 10 min for $20 million. He just looted a +16 lightsaber speed AA....I can't imagine what that will sell for. It only takes a few of these to build your cash base to once again buy harvestors......your looking for that one big ticket. If you run missions for an hour and don't loot anything uber and drop interest...these are not for you.....but if you keep running these (get two missions close to one another, kill the npc's, save the lair, go do the npc's at the next mission, save the lair, go back to the first lair and the NPC's will have respawned.....if close enough you can cycle each lair 3 times before having to blow up the lair...and get the mission reward. So 15 to 18 Auk guys per 2 lair mission cycle.....plus 10K for each lair. If your worried about not handling these guys......get some burst run food that you can use back to back to back......use a basic ranged weapon that is based on combat level, not skill.....something like a Nym's carbine....hit these guys from range and stay away from them....all of these missions I have done these guys will engage with you as melee.....so keep 20m in front of them and you won't take damage. This will slow down your kill rate (waiting for your stomach to empty for burst run food, etc..) but will keep you alive.

Ok, I could generate ideas for you all day long....but those are enough. If your willing to put the time in generating cash should not be a problem. Good luck.
