I have read on the trade forums a few months ago about a harvester with a BER of 30. NowI wasnt a crafter then soI thought nothing of it, but now that I am a crafter I wonder if anyone has seen or heard of this before... if so how is this possible with a supposid cap at 13 ber..

Am i just crazy or did anyone else see that sale.

Well, it's possible, although rare.

Back when the game first started, you couldn't experiment on harvesters (or maybe only experiment the hopper size). The BER was fixed at certain values depending on the harvester size. IIRC, it was2 BER for personals,4 BER for mediums, and 7 BER for heavies. The generators were a bit higher (5 for wind,8 for solar, and 12 for fusion).

Then the devs added BER experimentation. However, there was some bugginess with (I think) Fusion reactors (possibly with pre-change components) that allowed them to go up to extremely high BER values. The crafting bugwas fixed pretty quickly, but any harvesters made with the high BER remained. They can't be made anymore, but if someone had one made during that buggy period, that could've been what you saw.
