Thread: Usage XP
Count on having to get the xp for WS some other way and you wont be dissapointed if you dont get any UXP.
Whether it works or not it pales in comparison to the xp you get for crafting so just break out the tools and macros and go for your life!
Im a master smuggler and a novice ws.
Last night I crafted WUKs by hand for 60 xp each. Then I used them to slice and I got 90 xp each. That's 150 per WUK.
Of course, It's not the fastest way to level, but every bit helps, and I need the WUKs anyway.
From what I have seen, only what you make BY HAND gives UXP, and only single-use items like Powerups and WUKs would seem to fall into that category. Who besides a noob is going to carry less than a crate of Powerups, though, or even waste a precious inventory slot on such an item?
Getting a buddy to slice with your WUKs seems like the only way to get it, and that's only if you make them by hand -- this seems to be somewhere under the definition of "tedium", at least in terms of getting XP.
OTOH, if you have a buddy that is simultaneously grinding smuggler, then it sounds pretty good. In addition to macro-grinding WUKs, you'll get UXP for your buddy's use of the WUKs. Problem comes in transferring them to your buddy in a timely fashion, you'll waste so much time trading or dropping them one by one it would be more efficient to just grind barrels.
Note that powerups are artisan items, not weaponsmith. So even if those did give UXP, it'd be the wrong type.
From what I've heard at waterthread.org from Koster, UXP was more or less scrapped because a bunch of whiners in beta didn't like it. (God forbid they should have fixed it instead. Then I wouldn't have as much happy fun terrific grinding to do!)
Yes, Of course Ive read through the FAQ. I saw it mentioned, but never in depth. Does this work? I enjoy seeing my product being bought andconsumed, but Id also like to know why I havent recieved the usage xp.. is this broke? do I need to be in a certain point in the profession? Im still new at this, enjoying it of course.. Im close to being able to finally make a sunburn.
so any help on the usage xp would be helpful. The only insight Ill ask for.. swear.. everything else I have found out was through research and trial and error thanks.
Proud to wear my homemake... er.. chef title..
Thanks for the info.. It will be fun to stand at the starport, and tell people.." hey.. where you goin? no, You have to EAT THAT NOW!!" lol..
again, thanks.
and tonight... I made my first Sunburn. Very cool.

I asume usage xp only builds if someone is wearing clothes I've crafted, but does anyone know how it's measured? I doubt it'll ever be a viable source of experience points, but I'm just curious - is it the same for all types of clothing, because if it is then it'd be quite cool to calculate how many people are actually wearing my clothes.

I think it is the same for all pieces of clothing, but the maximum usage XP per item is however much XP you recieved for crafting it.
so usage xp DOES actually exist? i must admit I always thought it was an urban legend. I would be very curious to find out how much/how long that works. Just for shear curiousity - like you said - to see how many people (other than my hubby & wife) are wearing my clothes!
Isn't this in the FAQ yet?
