...My back pack. I'd like to be able to open my pack so I don't have to move
items to my main inventory, which is just time consuming. It can get pretty
crowded in the main inventory when you've got armor, weapons, power-ups, stimpacks,
food and whole bunch of sampled and hunted items. Once I start crafting each new
item takes up another slot. In fact, it would be just as well if there was no need
to open the pack at all. Just have the crafting filter search packs too.

d) Players would like to see a way of tracking harvester and structure maintenance rather than having to go to the particular structure all the time.

We're very interested in doing this. We're goin to look into a better way to track maintenance. How would you like to be able to track this?

Fourwords. Droids with maintenance modules.

Power droids should have aenergymodule that allows remote monitoring and powering of all your structures. (Thefictionwould be that you were charging the droid up and sending it out to recharge the specific structures.)

Treadwells and R-series droids should have a similar maintenancemodule that you can pay into. (Same idea... you're ordering the droid to go out and service your structures.)

Binary Load Lifters should be able to remotely pull resources from a harvester.

You could even have the droid rush off in a random direction and despawn... lock the control unit for 5 minutes or so... then have the droid spawn at 64 meters and rush back.

Viola. Remote structure access and a purpose for utility droids that feels very "Star Warsy".

There are several requests that this be a droid function.

I makes more sense to actually give the Data Terminals a use. Tracking Harvester data would be one obvious use to add to the currently useless Data Terminals.

As to changes to the Crafting process? All you need to add is a REPEAT command to instruct the crafter to repeat the exact recipe that is previously crafted.

What GrimJack said.

I had always thought that Crafters would be the Droid Engineers Number Uno Client.

And Yes, the DataTerminals that we can now craft at furniture IV, let them have a purpose in life.

I have allready suggested that they could be used to lock/open/validate access for doors.

Let one do the above, let the other control Your army of droids.

We KNOW that C3P0 where good at talking with other mechanical constructs, why should I then, a busy Crafter/Merchant take the time to do it? Ill just pull the chair over to my Data Terminal and chek on my droids, harvesters, houses, vendors and Bazzar sales.

A Merchant should be FAT from sitting behind his desk, Not Trim like Indiana Jones, from running, dodging and fighting his way back and to his wilderness based resources. A vendor PAYS Indiana Jones to do that.

How about being able to turn practice mode on and off from the schematic selection screen? After I'm done practicing I have to do another whole combine just to turn off practice mode. And I don't like leaving it on because I once lost something big because I didn't look before I clicked.

Also, /createPrototype should practice if you've got practice turned on, instead it creates a prototype. Or add in /practice, that would work too.

I disagree with operation of harvesters remotely. You should have to visit them, and have to retrieve resources yourself, place power in, etc. That's part of the game.

Monitoring remotely? It doesn't matter to me. I don't need it. I monitor everything on my spreadsheet. But if other people feel they need it, fine by me.

But again, I repeat, no remote operation. Why? Because this will destroy any foothold Mining has as a profession. The time involved in maintaining harvesters isthe only thing that pursuades many crafters to begin purchasing from miners. If there were no time involved, and all harvesting could be done with a click, then you will hamstring Miners.

Droids could still be used in the functioning of harvesters. Make resources weigh something! That way, a binary load lifter could server a very needed service. Carrying power also could be handled by power droids. They could carry the power for you (though not deliver it in the wild). Once at the harvester, the power droid could be hooked up to the harvester to transfer power.

I think perhaps one of the best ways to cut down on clicking during assembly is to allow the ability to set numbers (or letters for that matter) to resources in the inventory. When the crafting screen comes up, these hot keys would be initiated and would work over the previous actionhotkeys, most often set for standing, sitting, kneeling. Once the assembly window isclosed, the action hotkeys would once againbecome the working hotkeys.A crafter would be able to simply press a number on the keyboard to select a resource to fill in thefirst slot (top to bottom seems to be the waythe resource requirement boxesfill in now, this is great, keep it this way) that the component you are crafting requires. Having enter be used to move onto the next step of crafting would be most helpful as well in speeding up the crafting process.

PLEASE remove the shaded effect that comes in between crafting screens when crafting... its tedious on the eyes when crafting for a long time. Dont understand why the background even needs to be shaded when the process bar is filled...

2d) Id like to see a spreadhseet of what the power and money needed for each to operate. A seperate tool button would be fine.

I'd actually just like to see some other way than the status window of finding how much time my power and maintenance just gave my harvester. Maybe the option not just to add power or maintenance through the GUI, but the option to put it in by time instead. So I can add 3 days worth of each without a calculator.

Regarding Harvesters:

I think there should be 2 types of tools used to track harvester.

1. Generic Tracking Tool that tracks only harvester you own.

2. Advanced Tracking Tool that allows you to track any harvester you have admin rights to.

3. This should work for houses and other structures

4. The harvester interface is too cryptic. You should be able to do everything on 1 form or like suggested more text commands.

5. I agree with allowing any admin to destroy structure and send notice to admins of structure destruction.

6. Harvesters should keep power an maintenance when redeeded.

I agree with this. We are already required to physically visit the harvester, why make things even harder by having to go into several menus? Have it all in one interface. Status, operation, ability to add power and maintenance. Isn't the graphic interface supposed to make common activities easier?

yes to start with a way of monitoring the maintenance of structures would make it easier and possibly a maintenance droid would be usful. Above all the surveying is dull and boring and needs better advancements, how about just doubling or trebling the ammount you can sample for a start or maybe even a bigger and better surveying hand tool that could be crafted.
