Thread: Bazaar Improvements (based on much use)

Nice idea with the 'wanted' category, but this shouldn't be part of the bazaar. What we should have is another terminal, a "cork board", as it were, where Want-Ads, PA Recruitment Messages, personal vendor ads... etc... can all be posted and shared.

This is nice idea. Pay your 20cr for five days message (or more for longer, so you don't have to repost every week), and let it hang.

Of course... we'd need some of the sorting and filtering options from our proposed bazaar improvements added to this as well....

The limitations are, of course, your ads will only be available in the city you post them... unless a possible 'planet-wide' option is added, though I dunno if we'd even want a galaxy-wide. But... who knows.

So, what're the chances of stuff like this? It'd be sweet to hear a word or two from the Dev's.... ::looks around hopefully::

I agree with the need for some kind of "cork-board" station. Somthing like a local newspaper with a "help wanted" section would be good also. It would be an easy way to post in-game messages without just shouting in the streets.

Also, I see a few posts for vendors here on the boards but in game it is difficult to find anyone who can sell items above the 3K price limit of the Bazaar. A city-wide yellow pages would be a great thing.

It would be great to get a listing of what specific people are wanting, but a lot of my buyers are just looking for "something sexy" or "somthing exotic." I think that better sorting is the key as well as an easy way for those looking to buy to find those of us looking to sell.

Unfortunately, since clothing decay is not implemented yet, like the other items, repeat customers are not really a viable source of income. I would like an easy way to identify people looking for stuff without just running up and down the streets shouting.

Actually doing the player wants that would be crazy cause so many people do not know what they want or they want something godlike. Granted a few people can probably make some pretty godlike items but how many of those actually use a bazaar. Most likely they have a house with a vendor. I grant that it is a good idea but one that will probably never see the light of day.

I think the ideas above about having a wanted section are great. Should it cost credits to list in it, or perhaps a set number of ads per player like lots?

It would alsobe interesting if we could deliver items to specific people through the bazaar (and vendors, for that matter). Lets say that whether through the wanted section or word of mouth you find weaponsmith Bob and commision him to make a Uber Pistol. If he could place that in the bazaar/vendor, tagged for just that one player to purchase, it would make everything more convenient. Now the pistol can be made and stored, and picked up by the player at their convenience.

More categories sure... but at the very least, better organisation of the categories there are now. It is seriously non-intuitive to find certain things (like, say, travel packs) in the bazaar right now. Sure, you could click on each and every category, but the bazaar is usually slower than a stoned bantha...

I have also noticed that some things are not appearing in the correct place. A lot of items find their way into the "misc" category that should have categories. Many clothing items, some containers, and most of the low end harvesters fall into this category.

Some of the things we have asked for are in the "In Dev" notes:

---

Bazaar and bank

Update automated bazaar mail messages to contain more data

Add resource type name to auction name for resource containers

Show original object name for named objects (prevents exploit misrepresenting items)
----

The resource type name wasnt something I thought of.. but in retrospect it makes a lot of sense. I scale pricing based on resrource quality, and now people will see that the steel I sell at 3cr is different then the aluminum I sell at 6 cr..
