Oh right! Because SOE is so highly regarded for their ability to communicate things effectively and post information in logical places! Hence the reason I mentioned information that may have been posted somewhere that I MAY HAVE MISSED!

Create a character on Test Center Bria, go to a Blue Frog and grab the skills needed to become a Shipwright then take a look at what you will need when JTL goes live. Much better than waiting for someone to tell you, and you'll gain some valuable insight as to what else you may need when JTL goes live.

Heck maybe you might run across a but or two that all these JTL beta testers missed.

Rugoe, as I understand it that would only work if you've already gotten a beta invite, as the JTL professions (Piloting and Crafting professions) are only available if you're JTL Beta enabled.

Just my thoughts, do with them what you will.

Yeah I'm in Beta and really want to stockpile on some resources, but I have this feeling that they will change ... or worse yet the high quality stats will be changed when it hits live, makeing any "good" resources that I gather, utterly worthless.

the grinding resources most probably wont change from now till launch simply because it takes ALOT of resources to grind it.. I suggest stock piling all mineral and petro..

Well I never received a Beta invite. In fact I never registered for Beta ( my computer has refused to allow the Active X components of the Beta Registration to operate, it just dosn't like em. ) When SOE mentioned that they were having the stress test on TC Bria I decided to to hop in and help out. When I found the Blue frog thing, I discovered that Shipwight was a possiblity and decided to train it up just to see what it was about. Currently I've got two characters created on TC Bria that have master Shipwright. Of course my tests also showed me that yes you cannot get pilot skills without JTL.

IIUC Shipwright is supposed to be possible to use without JTL, but you'll never be able to use what you make if you dont get the expansion.

Eh, what the heck. I might as well tell what I've found so far. It's not much mind, but it is info. So enjoy and take what I'm about to tell you with a grain of salt.

Lets see, to start when you aquire novice Shipwright you get a number of schematics including four ship chassis schematics. These are of the ships that from what I understand are given to beginner pilots (Z-95, yout basic TIE, and two versions of the basic Hutt fighter). Mineral requirements for these is reather cheap compared to later fighter craft. Qualities needed were Conductivity and Overall quality. The amounts were (as of currently) :

2,000 Steel

1,000 Aluminum, Low-Grade Ore, Inert Petro

An X-Wing (and all other fighters gained at that level of skill) have the following cost:

24,000 Steel

12,000 Low-grade ore

6,000 Inert Petro

6,000 Aluminum

6,000 Iron

6,000 Fiberplast

At Master Shipwright you'll be able to finally create Multiplayer ships. Currently in the game there are three listed the YT-1300, the Decimatior for the imperials, and some courier ship for the rebelllion. They all have the same mineral requirements of:

70,000 Steel

20,000 Low-Grade Ore

10,000 Inert Petro, Aluminum, Iron, Fiberplast, Silicate Ore, Copper

Once you've created the ship you will find not a finished deed, but rather a nice set of blueprints all ready to be converted into a deed. To create a deed from the blueprints you'll need to find an NPC that can make the conversion for you. this NPC seems to be able to be found in starports in the room with the ticket terminals. He'll gladly make the conversion for you, for a small fee of 25,000 credits. While it is possible to have bluprints and deeds for ships, you won't be able to use them without JTL (I tried to find a way around that, but I can't seem to find any way to bypass the need for JTL).

Other ship components such as engines, sensors, droid interface units, weapons, reactors, shields and other items are craftable however I've yet to figure out what to do with them. I'm assuming that you will need a ship stored on a datapad in order to utilze these items and that a ship is usable once created from the deed. But since I don't have JTL I couldn't use the deed, hence I couldn't test much beyond creating the items.

There are also Items the can be created that seem to be for boosting the abilites of ship components, however these items all seem to need resources with names that seem to indicate either veryspecific spawning materials, or are materials that one may have to gather from space. In either case since the Blue frogs wern't creating the materials, and the survey devices wern't showing any on planet, I wasn't able to create any of the component boosters to test them out.

That's what I can remember from testing out Shipwright.

I won't jump down your throat because you are still a new member to these forums and haven't "figured it out" yet. This is your only freebie however.

There was no intent other than to inform. As a new member to the forums, I had but to assume that you did not have much experience with the crafting system. If you did, you would realize that it does not make sense to use Krayt Dragon tissues in Energy weapons, but its done anyway, so seeing an organic resource as a resource requirement in a starship would not surprise most crafters.

Besides, I could justify organics in starship construction simply by saying "leather seats and a wood-grain dash".

You wanted NDA safe info on resources, I gave you what I surmised through experience with this game and in particular with the crafting system. If you wish to be a jerk about it, I will remember and simply not answer any more questions you pose concerning crafting. After all, what would I know about crafting, having Mastered 4 crafting professions in Live and having Beta tested this game back when we had to run from city to city and if we died we had to run back to our corpse in our underware! And we liked it that way!
