There should be a % sell back fee. Like a re-stocking fee when you return merchandise at some stores.
Pretty bad to loose 100% of the hard earned xp.

then people could just change whenever they wanted, a master armorsmith could just switch to architect too easy and without effort

Exactly. If I have to suffer, then everyone should suffer.

I would hate to lose all that experience. Good thing I made the right decision the first time.
If I'd chosen DE or some other severely broken profession that would bite.

If you didn't lose the xp, you could help someone get apprentice xp by just surrendering a skill, letting him teach you over an over again.

When I surrender a skill box do I also lose the skill mods and certifications associated with that skill box?

If I quit my job, do I still get payed?
No? This life is so weak. I can't wait till the next life comes out. The next life won't have so many LIFE BREAKING issues...
I wonder if I'll play a human in my next life?
I am having fun with this.... but lets move on....

I've got everything in my city the way I want it now. I just want to double check: Can I now surredner skills without it affecting the city? In other words, we won't lose our Research Center specializtion, gardens and shuttleports wont disappear will they? I only can't replace things if for some reason they are removed. Is this correct? Thanks

we moved to another city.. I currently have no skills... and our old city hall still stands... it still exist
I was testing with surrendering all skills and can still use everything (the next update) and nothing happen.. like you stated.. cannot replace anything if you don't have the skill for it.. I guess this just allows novice politician to run a fully made city without losing anything

I would be very careful with this.
as in, not doing it.
Sure, you can do it now, drop skills and still have the benifits of the what you had.
but look at all the talk about people going up merchant, getting their vendors, then dropping the skills, keeping the vendors.
The devs are thinking this is an exploit and are making moves to correct it.
they would perhaps see this as in the same light.
