How about Homing Beacons, all you would do is put the name of a person who has one into yous, then u could see there exact location on the ctlr-V Map, also it could tell you what planet the person is on if not yours.

Oooo! I love that homing beacon idea. And the lava lamps and blacklights too, and in that vein... how about candles?! Since none of the lamps actually produce light, but torches do, how about letting us make candles? Small, large, short, tall, thick, thin, in colors... Think of the ambient light and decorative flair! I'd put lots of candles in my house. Much rather have candles than torches. But it would be nice if the lamps actually lit up too. And that list of MA items that sample from each elite profession, that one is great too.

Evening,


Well I decided one last post before bed was all I could muster.


Electroninc Binocluars would be a great Idea.


We need more items for Master Artisan. We got a few new toys and thats it. I figured I could make some really good and usfull items afterI picked up Master, boy was I wrong. I've been asked twice to make something from the Master Artisan list. Usually parts for a Crafting Station.


As for new items I would love to see Night Vision Goggles (come one this is science fiction after all they should at least be able to make something to see in the dark)


Being able to chose what was effected when crafting something would be great as well, especially for Weapon Power Ups.


Tie in other Elite Professions to Master Artisan as well.


Make it so if your a Weaponsmith thenyou can chose what you want to effect when doing powerups, Armorsmith make it so that they could Decied if they want to effect all the bonuses on Bone Armor of maybe just one of them and get a bonus for that, Droid Eng make it so that they can effect the parts they are making for thier droids.


Let them be able to make an extra something special in the items they make that a Regular Weaponsmith can't etc. Make it so that this is actually People want to become for other than bragging right (IM Master this, Master this and Novice this)


A mechanicalbird would be great for the bird cage. Maybe let us make a cage to put a mechanical pet into for our homes.


There needs to be better descriptions for some of the items as well, some of them are pretty sparce in what its supposed to do. Add in the description some of the things it can go into perhaps.


Maybe a new survey tool that lets us sample 2 resourses as the same time,I.E. 2 different types (mineral and a chemical) or 2 of the same type at the same time at an increased cost, ie copper and steel at 2.5 times the cost of sampling one and then sampling the other when oyu have enough of the first one.


A battery for a Survey Device, got em for droids all ready.


A battery for Harvesters, instead of being able to just add power to a harvester you can placea battery in it that was charged at a Power generater.


A battery that can be used to take the power from your harcesters.I.E. you've just upgraded all your personal harvesters to medium ones, and you discovered you have 10k of power left in them. You stick this in and now you drain all the power out of them and place it in one of the new Harvesters.


An Item that lets you take from the Maintance pool of your old harvesters and just be able to transfer it to you new ones, maybe have it take say 10% off of that as a transfer fee.


Question: What exactly does a creature habitat do? Only thing I can see to use it as would be to bring alot of say flies to a huge battlefield and release all the flies you've been gathering for added special effects, ala Gone With The WInd on the battlefield there. (guess that it shows my age that I actually remeber the movie and have seen it to.) Make it a little something more or make it so you can empty it and put something new into it. Maybe be able to transport a life form like Butterflys to someplace that does not have any there.


Aint it great how the mind start working over time... but only late at night when your trying to SLEEP!!!

How about a Camera?


Like, a personal digital camera that you could use to take LOW resolution screen shots and store onto the camera. Then, you could keep a photo album.


Of course, the main problem is what to do with the .jpg files? Well, storing them on the server will cause WAY too many database issues, so just keep them Harddrive local and visible only to the player who took them. Ideally, the camera would take pictures that could actually be used as ART, and placed onto walls. But there would probably be a problem with memory and pictures, so It'd have to be VERY stable before implementing.

How about making the slot machines and ruelet tables craftable, I promsise that if they are made craftable i will open up a casino on Tatooine.

Had another idea late one night a few weeks ago.


How about a tool that lets you repair broken items, so that they either sell for more or are actually able to be used in game.


Maybe kits that could only change them after they are made would be better, for weapons, armor, and clothing.


the ability to make survey gear that actually improves if you use better resourses to craft it.

Decided to Shoot a line on to this old thread once again.
Being able to make the different gambling machines would be a great idea personally, I know I would have placed 1 or 2 for when Im bored or waiting for someone to pick up a bulk order of power ups and what not.

Since vehicles and droid have been brought in now... How about barding for the mounts (Mount Armor in other words), maybe be able to change the type of armor on the vehicles.
Be able to make a swoop with no armor and lower resists on it, so its faster. Add more armor and its becomes slower.

Be able to Change the color of the vehicles, or even the name of them would be nice.

If they brought in armor for mounts then maybe they could bring in the Calvavry profession would be nice.

I would like a datapad where I could just check the status of my harvestors. That would be nice.


I don't think Master should have more components to make. Components should be low level stuff that Masters purchase to help lower level artisans.


I'd like to see powerups to vehicles. Things to improve the speed or something.

A lot of great ideas have been posted so far. I like your "electronic notepad" idea. I've actually posted a similar idea I called "blank data disk", though I was actually proposing it for novice artisan, but I don't think where it goes is as important as having it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one out there that has numerous emails saved up with instructions on how do do something, how to get something, greeting emails for new guildmembers or city members, or whatever. Some of these emails contain waypoints and other very useful information. Information that I want to keep and perhaps even sell.

The only question is "how?". Well I have the answer. What I propose is a new novice artisan item/schematic, a blank data disk. It would be a fairly simple item to craft; maybe 2 metal and 1 chemical. Now alone it isn't too remarkable, BUT given a few tweaks to the in-game mail system it could be an incredible device to have.

The only change to the mail would be the addition of a new option, "Save". "Save" would allow players to save an email to a blank disk (send, subject, message body, and attachments) and then delete the message from the player's mailbox.

The data disk once it has been written to would then be renamed from "blank data disk" (or whatever the crafter originally called it) to the subject line of the saved mail. Options included in the disk's radial menu would be: "Examine", "Destroy", "Read", "Load into Mail".

"Examine" and "Destroy" are typical of any item. Nothing new here.

"Read" would bring up a mail message box window so that players could read the contents of the disk.

"Load into Mail" would input the mail message into a player's mailbox where it could be forwarded, etc... but in doing so the disk itself would be destroyed.

I thought about an "Erase" option for the disk so that it could be re-used but I think the disk itself is fairly simple and inexpensive that one could just buy another disk, or crate of disks.

So what does this give you? Basically, portable and transferable information outside of one's mailbox that could be sold on a vendor. Possibilies for usage of such a tool are wide ranging. RPing alone I think could embrace this in setting up quests and events. It would also mean an end to all that out-of-game post-it notes and paper that many of us use to keep track of important information. And relatively speaking the amount of information to be stored is not much more than the stats of most items and resources already.
