I know this might sound like a silly question but what exactly is deep crust chemical extractor? Is that medium or heavey harvester?
Also I have mineral mining installation ber 10. I think this one is the medium one, am I right?
It's hard to tell what type of harvester is based on the names alone or BER number.(The only thing I'm clear about is the harvesters with the word "personal" init) I was wondering if you could tell me any other possible names of the harvester I might encounter in the game.
Thanks in the advance.

Thanks that helped a lot!
From what you've told me, I have heavy chemical extractor and medium mineral harvester. I've double checked the maintenance rate. I'll look at that for my future purchases.
Once again, thanks

Thanks for making such a great post. Anyway, you missed one thing that I find crucial in maintaining harvesters. Its a simple macro.
/depositmaintenance 9000
/addpower 7500
This will take care of a ber 13 for 100 hours. Any numbers that have the same ratio will do, but I find these numbers to be the easiest for me. Using this ratio for a heavy harvester, both the power and maintenance will run out at the same time (Maintenance = 90 cr/hour. Power = 75units/hour
***NOTE*** Its been a while since I have dealt with personal or medium harvesters. The ratio of maintenance to power is probably different than a heavy.
Right before you redeed a ber 13 harvester, use the command /depositmaintenance 4500 (Make it a macro so you only have to press one button each time). This will take into account the cost of redeeding the harvester and maintain a balance between maintenance and power levels.
Hope this helps.

Buck listed a whole bunch of info earlier that in all honesty had all the characteristics of a new language to me. Seeing as how I work 40+ a week and do not have the time to dedicate is there any way to easily and quickly decide which resources off the same branch are superior to others so I don't waste my time harvesting useless resources?
Example. Wild or domesticated corn? Steel or Iron? Currently my emphasis is on mining simply to make cash but in order to do that I need to know what resources are preferred over others.
Argh!
Talk about informational overload!

Awesome guide. I've made more money this way than I ever did before...I have a question though...I've found some really nice resources on Naboo and Tat and put down my harvesters but within an hour of production they stopped harvesting because the resource they were harvesting is no longer available. I've put down my harvesters 3 times within the past week and had this happen. Now, I was using personals so that's what? 1500X8X3? That hurts the wallet. Any suggestions on how to find spawning resources that aren't going to stop spawning within an hour of harvesting? I'm wondering if I'm just naturally this lucky or if the devs watch me for a good laugh.

/sigh
yourbump just reminded me i have to really finish this thing, and now upgrade the whole combat section..
But as an answere to your question. You are getting unlucky. You are droping on a resource thats near the end of its shift. The resources have a limited time.. check the guide,, it will tell ya. You are just droping late. You have a few things to do that you do to change.
First. are you playing enough? checking stuff every few days is key for finding something new. I dont trust www.swgcraft.com for times cuase they are wrong soo often. Your best bet and i know many wont belive me and say they are a waste are survey droids. Even for your own planet. These things are not that expensive and im sure a nice DE will cut ya a deal. They are a weird bunch and the idea they can make something different will make there night. Anyway.. off track..
Launch a survey drone.. every day for 1 week.. for mineral, chem, gas, floral.. on one planet. will take a few droids an a bunch of survey tools.. but this wil give you a huge idea of how resources shift. It would be better to go 2 weeks but one is enough you will see some apearing and disapearing from day to day.To avoid this.. checking often is the way to do it. Survey drones are the best. You launch it, and a while later it sends back a report with everything in a ncie neat list. They take no effort and you can do it say every 2 days. dont even open a survey tool, just wait till you get the report. When you do compare it to the last one. (you did save the e-mail right?) Now you know this is new in the last couple days and you should get a decent shift.
Hmm.. Droid section.. !

How about something about how the whole resource shift system works? I've got guildies just starting to craft who have been around forever and still can't get them to understand the whole why plumbum iron was on tat last week and isn't anywhere this week, etc.
