I have been thinking about this alot lately myself. Now I'm not master BH, but I am close to using all my skill points. I love the game and I hope I don't end up getting bored with it in another month or two. I am trying to treat my character as a real person. Try to think about why my character would do something. I am actually picky about the BH missions I accept. I look for the baby killers, the pet killers, child molesters and I hunt them exclusively. When I am done with a mission, I don't return back to the mission term to sign up for another one. I'll stop by the medical center or the cantina, even though I usually don't need any healing, just to strike up a conversation. I've found a few of the "city dwellers" enjoy hearing a good storyof a bounty I just completed. I admit I grinded out BH pretty hard, but since then I've slowed down. I've traveled alot more. Talked to NPC's and done their missions. Not the best reward but with my way of thinking, I am doing something good for that "person".

For the future, I am looking at doing the different theme parks, started working on Jabba's palace today. There is also the intrigue of opeing up a FS slot, even though I'm not too concerned about that. With the skill surrender I'd like to retire my character some day, settle down, open a shop or a cantina. Although, I've heard that there is a penalty to surrendering skills, not sure what they could be.

Lots of people have lots of different goals for the game. Some more complex, others very simple. My best friend has decided come hell or high water, he will find stormtrooper TK-421. I can see where some people will get bored with this game very quickly with the time it takes to max their character, and I hope SOE has lots of content being prepared to lengthen the end game. The game is still early, give it some time, and just enjoy living in a star wars universe. You'll only get out of the game as much as you put in.

Good post, by far the funniest and most interesting comment I've read in a while was to search for TK-421. "Why aren't you at your post?" Heh I liked that one.

Anyone else out there also close to mastering BH and have a thought about this? I've run across several posts on some of the other forums talking about how the Galactic Joke of a War is pointless which is what I mentioned earlier. How taking down marks is either incredibly hard if you try to fight it out, or incredibly easy if you get CH skills.

Still looking for some comments, especially those that disagree so that it points out something I was missing about this game.

The phrase 'the more, the merrier' seems to apply to pvp. The game is young and most of us are not ready for pvp. I would give it a little time and let more of us catch up before you make some conclusive decisions about what pvp is or isn't.

The idea of spending time in Jaba's court and possibly getting armor like Bobba Fett's is exciting to me. I hope you can find a story and something that intrests you as well.

So almost master BH now! Played around with some of the artisan skills since I had extra points early on and surrendered them as I needed them. Tried a bunch of professions as I played and just kept giving up more points to get the BH skills as I went along. Now i'm one skill box from mastering BH and I just don't know what to do anymore.

Already rather sick of just tracking down targets that are sometimes bugged, sometimes not..spending more cash then I make to find them at times unless I get lucky. Got all that exp in weapons needed (including the boring as hell lightning cannon, hah trademark weapon for the Bounty Hunter, what a freakin' joke =p). I could get a ton of carbine or pistol exp in the time it took to get any cannon exp, that weapon by far took the longest time to get exp in and sucks the most.

Targets were hard to kill early on so then got some novice CH skills and they're trivial to kill with a pet, and I'm not talking about some dragon or rancor, just a sand beetle is all that's needed. Hell I can kill targets with a normal Squill from Tatooine.

So exp got boring after a while, most new skills sucked other then the carbine ones, so then decided to play the faction game. Joined the Rebels, ran a bunch of missions and now have the rank of Staff Sergeant...um so what? Rank doesn't seem to do anything for me other then a nice thing to say how much time I've spent killing imps or running missions. After getting bored with the same Destroy_ImpBase_01 missions went hunting for imp soldiers in cities. A friend and I killed all the imps we could find, hmm no more imps around here now. So then finally decided to go Overt status and see if that got more interesting. Went and ran into the middle of Imp cities and started shouting for the Imps to show themselves, waited, waited, waited, doesn't look like many go Overt. Went to another city, same thing, another city, same thing....

Finally found a city with a few Imp faction people who were overt. They ran at us, 1 shot they were dead...hmm fun PvP. Good fight, one shot kills....boring. Stayed in the city some more just in case there were more people that wanted a crack at killing us. A few people tried, but whoever gets the first shot in seems to always win.

SO NOW WHAT?!?!?

What is the point of doing anything in SWG now? Just run around randomly killing more mobs just cause we can? Already killed Dark Jedis, Dark Jedi Masters, Rancors, Witches, Krayt Dragons, and an assortment of other types of mobs. No really reason to kill them other then I felt like picking a fight. Have a ton of those Focus Orbs off Jedis that obviously do no good unless you have the FS box unlocked and can use them. The PvP war is kind of a joke since one shot kills get really boring, no skill there at all.

If anyone has good suggestions on why to bother playing once a skill tree is mastered please feel free to post it. I love Star Wars but just because this game has some Star Wars items in it that isn't a reason to keep playing something this boring once you've finished all your skills. There were a lot of posts by devs saying how getting the skills was only the start and then the real game began. Ok so where's the real game? Because right now it feels like the game is just about done to me. So devs, players, whoever...what are you going to do once you've gotten all your skills and traveled to all the planets killing random mobs? Then what?

Did you read the post? Or just spew the first thing that your fingers could type? I'm overt right now and have been doing PvP. One shot kills aren't exactly entertaining, and there are hardly any other overts after actually trying to search them out. However, nice post with a very well thought out and suggestive idea. =p

Anyone else out there with a better idea as to the point of the game now?

I have to agree with ya here, im not that near master, but I see the pvp thing. its either "i shoot you and you die, or you shoot me first and i die" theres really no skill in it at all, which is disappointing, Hopefully things will be added to make pvp more interesting, or things aside from pvp to keep people mastering all their skills occupied.

Allow me to suggest a few things that you might not have done before....

1) Take a shower

2) Get some sun

3) Go on a date

4) Clean the crusty stuff from all those lunchs at a computer from around the number pad

5) Change your underwear

Now once your done with that... maybe try having fun. Or if that doenst work out for ya... move on to EQ they got plenty of nutballs just like ya there.

Maybe try mastering a different profession. Try a few and see which is more fun.

Man, that sucks that you are bored,

I am nowhere near Master yet, have been playing since release. But this is kind of what I see. Some people will get to places faster than others. I do think the majority of the players are not as far and advanced as you my friend. This is what the companies look at. They do not care that a small percentage of people will be able to gain the top level of the hardest profession in the game in a short time. What matters to them is how fast do the majority get there, and thats what they base their pace and content on.

Luckily, there are things that can be done in this game, besides hunting. I am just curious, but have you gone fishing? From what it sounds like, seems to be challenging. Start a business of some sort, maybe something along the lines of a trapper. Make business contacts and see if you can create a new piece of equipment.

The point I am making is that there are allot of things to do, but in the end, if nothing you do is fun for you, then go do something that is.

You bring up a good point, (doesn't matter you lvled so quick as soon everyone will be in same boat), right now the driving factor for most people is lvling. Bu that will soon come to an end for everyone, as in the game it is relatively easy to lvl. What then what is the motivation to keep playing, other than friends and social aspect. Not much yet!, i think there isn't really much content past the lvling wheel.

I thought the part about pets, just shows how out of balance they are.

If you want a challenging proffesion to try on another server, try chef the most challenging proffesion of all. The challenge open a bar and run a successful business in profit. ( sounds easy till you try it).

I think the content to keep player entertained close to max, will be added latter. The premature release of the game left a lot of content unfinished.
