The price of energy after the 9/4/03 patch may be changing because they have finally implimented energy potential as a factor:

"Power update. Potential energy attribute > 500 yields up to two times more power output. Power of that quality can last up to two times longer."

I recommend you buy all you can on the bazaar that's still under-priced. It may not last long at that price once people realize it lasts twice as long in their harvesters.
