IMO, the pistoleer skills will be very useful to you in the beginning, up until you have eyeshot. The pistoleer bleed and melee defense will retain their usefulness for a bit longer. Plus you will still retain your bonuses against stun, dizzy, etc. by keeping them.

Ive been reading alot of the posts on this forum, and seen some screenshots of people who have unlocked their slots, and the screenshots got me to thinking, the 2 screenshots I saw of the confirmation message showed the players learning their master skill from a NPC trainer. My question is does who you get the master skill trained by play a factor? Will learning from a player not get you the slot?

I know that there may not be a definate answer, but do you think that a npc vs. pc for earning skills play a role?

Not really...it's one of the slow disciplines, like Medic XP or Dancing XP. Only way to get XP is by 'Get Sample' a lot.

Macros can help with this to some extent, (search the board for 'macro' to find specifics), but you're still somewhat limited by your Action pool. Doc Buffs can help there.

Make sure you Sample on the highest concentration you can find...this means less fails and so more XP.

Don't wear armour, this slows Action regen down.

Craft/grind while you sample. This won't speed Survey XP up, but doesn't interfere with the sampling, so you can be doing two things at once.

Sampleoutside starports while advertising products/training. Again, doesn't speed up Survey XP, but means you spend your time more productively.

Aside from that, it's simply a case of knuckling down and digging.

I'm about to master tk. I'm interested in a new profession and i'm curious about something:

If i was to master tk and Swordsman, would i get both defenses when attacking with either weapon, for example:

when fighting with a vibro knuckler, would i have the Swordsman Counter attack? I know the defense max is 125, but what about those things, and would i get the +whatever ranged attack defense from swordsman and tkwhile tk'ing, Thnks for your answers
