Sorry, when I reread the question I just asked, I dont like the way it sounds.

Can I have 1 vendor per house, or do I have 1 vendor and I have to decide which of my 3 houses to put it in?

That sounds better.

One vendor max, not per house. Someone with Management IV in the merchant tree can have up to 6 vendors

U are being mislead when we say droid vendor. this isn't an R2-D2 or a C-3PO this is a Bartending droid. Basically a balck box that doesn't even reach the waste of my chracter. You are better off with the bulky one.

What happens if I create a vendor, then drop Business III ? Do I lose control over the vendor, or can I still use it?

Ok as a Master Merchant I will enlighten you so listen up.

On Vendor Types:

Artisan Profession, Business 3 - you get the "big box"

Artisan Profession, Business 4 - you get robo-bartender

Merchant Novice - you start gaining points in a skill called "Hiring". This determines what type and how good of a vendor you can place. At this level, I believe it's just a randomly chosen NPC. As you go up the Hiring tree you gain more races to choose from and the ability to "clothe" your vendors.

Merchant, Hiring 4 - you gain the Surgical Droid

Merchant, Master Merchant - you gain the Protocol Droid

Now on Vendors.

You get 1 Vendor at Business 3. Another at Novice Merchant. And one at each level of Management, to a total of 6. This is the maximum number of vendors you can have created anywhere on your server.
