Draznar,

I've seen you post this before, about the supposed Holo report of lost MP and Power being a bug. I've never seen this. In fact, I've read the contrary...lost MP and Power is the risk you take for over extending your harvester on a resource. It's part of the game, not a bug.

Where galaxies aren't bugged, resources stay a minumum of 5 days. So you can play out the mine for 5 days risk free. If you want to extend your mining operations after that, you have the risk that the resource will run dry. This system puts the risk into mining.

I can testify to some type of maintenance 'bug'. Last night I went to bed with roughly 20 hours of maintenance on each of my 2 wind harvesters in Kor Vella. When I woke up this morning and logged in to check them, one harvester had 14 hours left and one had 22 minutes!!!! Good thing I logged in to check before work, but unfortunately I didn't have time to go check all my other wind harvesters so I may be screwed when I get home from work. Not to mention that every single time without fail that I try to 'use machinery', I lose connection to SWG, relog, am able to use that machine, move on to the next one and repeat the process. But that's another topic.

I find that the biggest problem is that most artisan players have little to no understanding of economics. I think most folks understand supply and demand, but don't know how to apply it.

I have Eng IV, so I can handle all of my basic needs for harvestors, yet I still own a couple made by others. Why? Because they were for sale on the bazaar for less than the cost of the resources required to make it... the seller lost money on the purchase. I think a lot of folks are putting a priority on Usage XP, when it's really a very small amount. I'm buying personal harvestors at 1000cr each. Market price should be about 5000cr for personal harvesters. When it costs me more to re-deed than to buy a new one, guess which one I do? I scrap the old one, thus denying the continued UXP to the creator of the original. Best case scenario for him is that he also made my next one... in which case he's lost 4000cr in sales, and I've saved 500cr+. I'm definitely willing to give up the 30 to 50 UXP he'll earn for that.

I'd love to know where you came up with those numbers.5000 credits for a personal harvestor would be a price of 20 credits per unit. If you think that anyone is going to pay that much, you're crazy.

Here's my take from some of the nice suggestions above.

1. Addcondition to a harvester and make it run out fairly fast. I would put a max condition equivalent to 20 days of continuous use. Right now I look at maintenance cost as oil for the gears and replacing worn parts. Eventually any machine becomes damaged beyond repair. This should be true for harvesters too.

2. Allow harvesters to be moved without any cost IF they are at 100% maintenance at the time of the move.

3. On top of reducing condition over time, reduce the condition of a harvester by a fixed amount for each move (re-deed).

True, I do think that needing an X amount to re-deed something is a bit crazy. I think that the minimum # to re-deed (with it being lost) should be dropped, and then up the maintence costs to offset it.

I've been saying this since beta. The maintenance costs should be all that's required. My father has a windmill, we moved it a few seasons ago. Because it was properly maintained, the only thing that was required was for us to take it down. So therefore I propose that it should take a few minutes of your time in order for the deed to reclaim, rather than having to pay 3k to reclaim it, (or whatever the particular price happens to be)
