i think it would be cool if vehicle components were crafted separatly and thenthere would be a Vehicle assembly tool to assemble all the pieces.all the speeders would require a repulor lift drive, the model hull, the apropriate propulsion engine (you would have to make 3 identical turbine engines for a X-34, an ion engine for the 74-z[speeder], and dual ion engine for the swoop), and brakes. then you could choose to add a cargo apartment and engine filter(make vehicles enginesthat don't have filters decay faster while in use onTatoine). The stats of assembled vehicles would depend upon the quality of the parts. the vehicle as a whole would not decay, but rather the individual parts would. then if a certain part totally decayedyou would beunable to use it. You would have to go to an artisan that has vehicle assembly tool and get a new part put in. However, if the hull totally decayed the vehicle would blow up, ejecting you and causing significant damage to you(if you were riding it at the time), it would also cause damage to all the other parts. it would then become unusable and you would have to go to an artisan with a vehicleassembly tool and have them select "salvage" off of the tool radial menu, which would collect allthe still undecayed parts from the vehicle and then you would have to get all the necesary parts for the vehicle and have them assembled.
i think that this would add alot more variaty and costumization options to vehicles. what do you think?
Actually this is exactly what the devs wanted to do with all crafted items back before/durring beta.

has anyone ever thought to make purposefully "flawed" parts? with low durability or
with stats that aren't perfect? i was just hinking about it the other day. I would like to open up a "used" parts store where all the parts are slightly lower than the usual "highest" rating.
Anyone else intersted? named the parts in relation to their status...
Example:
"Refurbished Ion Accelerator":several parts have been replaced and refurbished, but thispart hada destinctive rattling sound when usedin testing.
"Carbon Scoured Power coupler": Has several spots that could not be cleaned off after it was refurbished from a powerplant that exploded last year. Still good as new, and guaranteed not to blow up again......
"ConvertedDroid batteries": these batteries were orignially made 50 years ago but appear to still hold a charge. Using a special converter, the charges can be usable by droids commonly used today, though they do not last very long, nor are they guaranteed not to cause damage. Use at own risk.

It would be pretty cool if the Devs came out of their sipder hole and gave us an ETA on the vehicle Hp fix...
