Why would the devs make that single type of powerup unavailable? I have crafted a few powerups myself, and while i hardly do any melee powerups, i still beleive that it is possible, however unlikely. I have sat in front of a crafting station till i was sick of it looking for the right powerup. Maybe its a bug, maybe im wrong i dunno, if i am ill be the first to admit. I havent seen anything from soe or the devs saying that that type is impossible. I truly beleive that if you stand there long enough and craft, you will get what you want, it may take you 2 tries or it may take you 2 years, but its not impossibleuntil its a 0% chance

Go ahead then. Prove me wrong.

im not trying to prove either of you wrong. i was simply answering a question to the best of my abilities. If i read correctly its the 2 ppl that had nothing helpful to say that began this. i apologize for starting all this by trying to help a guy out, as i have been helped so many times. I will stick to my guns tho, it is possible. and no i care absolutely nothing about standing in front of a crafting station for a 2500 credit crate of powerups. Like i said in my post, i will be the first to admit im wrong if i am wrong. I will not reply here again, because of what this has become. I have better things to do than get heckled by a couple of ppl i could care less about. Watkinse, im sorry bud, i didnt mean for this to happen. have a nice day

Hello,

I tried to fulfill a customer order like this. After more than 50+ tries, we had to settle for a +15% Max Dmg and +33% Range (approx numbers). Like with range power-ups, it seems that Max Dmg is a secondary trait--which means that around 15% to 16% is the modification limit. This was confirmed by the experience of Master Artisans that I senttells to during that time as well.

Attribute selection for power-ups is random--no relation to your tool quality, resources, etc. You can certainly experiment more than I did to get the combination you want. It's a question of how much time and resources you are willing to invest.

Good luck,

-D

The problem here is that watkinse refuses to listen to reason. Halaster and I answered the question based on our extensive knowledge of the Artisan profession and the game itself. When watkinse refused to listen that's when it went down hill. I'm convinced they're not possible because I have never, ever seen a Max+33 meleepower up. Not on vendors, not on the trade boards, and never crafted one. This is after many months of crafting. Maybe there was a freak batch of melee power ups but I'm sure we'd hear about it because my customers would love Max+33 power ups. If they existed I'd be making them. Look at the various FAQ's on this board and on SWGCraft, there's no mention of Max+33 melee power ups. When one person claims they exist but every resource on the Internet says otherwise who is more likely to be correct?

Frankly, if watkinse is so adamant that they exist then he can go crazy trying to craft them. As someone else stated the resource type, tool quality, station rating, etc. make no difference to the outcome of the modifiers. The same method is used for EVERY combination of melee power up. There's nothing special here so knock yourself out.

Watkinse, I believe they used to be possible, but as of the last 2 publishes, if they are still possible, it is a 1 in a million chance.

I've been making powerups since I started in November 03 and I have never ever seen a Melee powerup with the stats you want, but boy, I'd love to be able to make one!

All you guys need to take a deep breath.. to my fellow powrup makers, I beleive he said theyWERE possible. With all the nerfing thats been going on I'm sure you could agree that a few publishes ago they may have been possible, even if rarely.

Watkinse, maybe they missread you, but dont flame 'em too much.. they are experienced crafters, and are talking from personal knowledge. If neither of them have come across one in all their time I think its sufficient to say they are either non-existant NOW or very, very rare.

Anyway.. if anyone succedse in making one.. can I have a schem?? heheh

You can't do that with a melee powerup. With melee, your best bets are mind or health primary, max damage or speed secondary, and min damage or speed tertiary.

No, you can't make max secondary + min tertiary. Or speed/speed either. That just doesn't happen.

I'm a little confused with this and was hoping you could elaborate for me. You state that you can get max damage as a secondary and min damage as a tertiary in the firstparagraph but then go on to say in the second paragraph that you can't get max secondary and min tertiary.

Am I correct in saying that you're saying for instance, a mind cost primary, max damage secondary, and min damage tertiary power-up isn't possible to craft?

Back to the main thread, I've also spent a few months stocking a vendor with power-ups and still haven't seen max damage come up on the primary. This question tends to come up every now and again and we have the same debate each time. The consensus among the Artisan community is that it doesn't exist, yet this is occasionally refuted by those that say they have bought these in the past.

I had a customer who visited my shop and asked if I had any, and swore to me that he had bought some from a different vendor some time ago. I also asked him to check for me to see if he still had one lying around so that we could post the image on these boards to put this as rest, but to no avail.

It maybe that these were once available and are either no longer craftable or that the chances of getting them are extraordinary slim, but that wouldn't fit with the rest of the paradigm.

Isnt there a corespondent or a dev to ask if they took them out .. i am not sure why they would .. to leave Max dmg for Firearms is odd .. you put a insane Jawa then add a 33% mod on it .. its over before you can find out who hit ya .. YES i have bought these and no i dont have a screenie .. i just need to know if they took them out at this point .. so can ia higher power answer this ?

That is correct, because of the way the mods come in. You might get Mind / Max / Speed. You might get Mind / Min / Speed. You might get Mind / Speed / Min. Or even Mind / Speed / Max.

You're not going to get Mind / Max / Min. At least I haven't seen it yet.

For the original poster, fine, they may have been craftable early on in the game. Or you may be mis-remembering. But ultimately, they are *not* craftable now. No amount of tantrum that you throw will change that fact, though you're welcome to travel to SanDiego and try the tantrum in person with the devs. They might laugh, they might throw you out of the office, but I hope they'd elect to have securityperform a much-needed attitude adjustmentas they evict you...

Are power-ups completely random in what stats you get or does it depend on the resources you use?

I crafted some of these I think a couple of months ago. Just double checked as I still have a crate on display. The stats are:

Mind Cost 32.83%

Min Damage 8.25%

Max Damage 16.17%

But I've not been able to replicate this combo since then, despite many attempts.

It is random within reason and is based upon the type of powerup you're crafting. If you want max/min on a ranged, for example, start with a muzzle. If speed is your thing (again ranged), start with a coupler or grip.

There's only one type of melee powerup, so good luck...

Resource type has nothing to do with it. Only the OQ of resources impacts powerup and then only in the % bonus that can be experimented to.
