If you are using 3 lines with Next, post the full macro and I'm sure we can figure out where it is going wrong.

This is an copy/paste of a line in my macro. I know you have mentioned that you have an exact copy of the one in the stickies, but this is what I am using right now to grind FS crafting XP. It works both near and away from a crafting station (though it will only pull up the correct schematic if I am near one).
It is not exactly what is in the stickies, but it works for me, so you might want to try it if it differs in any way from what you have, who knows...maybe it will work.
Other than that, I'm stumped.

Thanks for that. Can you try an experiment for me just to see if it is something to do with me rather than my macro. Pop open a tool and stick your resources in and then manually type the /next or /nextcraftingstage command into the chat tab and see if it advances to the next stage for you. if it does then there is definetly a problem with my toon rather than macro which gives me ammunition to have another grumble at the CSR's.

I appreciate you helping me out with this

Ok, did some tests for ya:

Opened a tool, put in the resources, type /next;...nothing happened

Opened a tool, put in the resources, type /nextcraftingstation;...nothing happened

Since the act of manually typing draws the cursor away from the crafting window to the chat window, I did this:

Opened a tool, put in the resources, set a macro with /next;....nothing happened

Opened a tool, put in the resources, set a macro with /nextcraftingstation;...nothing happened

Opened a tool, put in the resources, set a macro with /ui action defaultButton;...window went to the next screen

Started my grind macro...everything works

So it appears as if the /next; commands only work if the macro has 'control' of the crafting window/process.

So I guess it all comes back to you getting that darn macro to work.

If you are "next" to a crafting station, you must have THREE lines with "/next;", not TWO .

Hope that helps.

It's not a fault like this. I'm aware of the crafting station extra /next command required as i did the same macro system when i grinded doctor up. Its the /next or /nextcraftingstage command not working that is the problem. Like the other poster says its possible to clunk together a grinding system by using multiple macros but it doesn't work effectively and still requires you to push one key to pop in the schematic and bring up the resource entry screen. From there you can click on the resources but you have to click the assemble button before you can use a macro to do a /ui action defaultButton command to go through the rest of the crafting stage.

I sent a ticket into a CSR and basically got fobbed off with some default message about custom macro's not being supported even though it's not a macro but a command you can use in a macro that is faulting with me.

For an exact copy of the macro then you can look at the one Summerflame posted in the guide to grinding Weaponsmith as it's that exactly.

If anyone can help with this i'd really appreciate it - weaponsmith is hard enough to grind without being able to use macros to lighten the RSI inducing load.

Many thanks.

Time for yet another hard read of the macro then methinks. Thanks a lot for your efforts but i have a feeling i'm going to be resigned to doing this grind the real hard way, lol.
