Is it possible to move a harvester? I mean, if I put it down for a specific resource and it shifts away, can I move it or do I have to destroy that one and build a brand new one elsewhere?

So I have to have a certain amount of credits invested in the harvester when I choose to destroy it to reclaim the deed? So if I put 3000 credits into it and then click destroy, I'll have my deed back but, if I let it run out of money and I click destroy it'll be gone? Did I get that right?

Also, is there any way to know just how much needs to be invested in order to reclaim the deed? Obviously, if I only need to invest 1500 to reclaim the deed, I'd rather do that than invest and 1500 and lost the excess...or does the excess come along when you build the new one?

Thanks.

When you select the destroy option it tells you the amount of maintenece pool you need in order to retain the deed. I tried it on my first wind generator the other day and it said 3000 and I was shocked because I only paid 1500 for it in the first place.

Wow, A lot of responce, I never thought it would happen.

Things people have been asking and answers:

How do you make a living? Well.....Powerups are an excellent way, at master I produce powerups that usually have 50-60% exp on effectiveness and 40-50% on durability. right now I give them away to players in my PA, but that's because I want to get them addicted to the idea of having good stuff so they'll support me a bit more. Beyond that you can make some pretty awesome amounts of cash making electronics. But you really need a factory to do that. I try to make 2-3 hundred components whenever I set down one of my two factories. I sell the components to other crafters between for 100-200 (800 for micro sensor suites) credits. so I get about 10-20 k for each set of 100. that's not something to snub your nose at. Usually the components in demand right now are control units, GP's, and Micro Sensor Suites.

Can you pick up harvesters?

Most certainly, you have to have 2 days worth of cash upkeep in them, and you can. I have a stock of 8 medium installation sized harversters, (2 solar, 6 mineral). When I set everything down, I run like 12k of upkeep a day...so I don't run them all the time if I can help it. I have a job that prevents me putting 10 hours into the game every day.

other comments:

Well...if anyone know what the heck industrialist Exp is, let me know...everyone speculates it has to do with business, but I think it has to do with factories....

When you hit Master Artisan, that's when things get fun. This game is really neat in that leveling through the tredmill isn't soo bad for a crafter. You can automate a lot of the stuff you need (though it takes longer than doing it by hand), and the focus isn't getting to master, it's what you do once you get to master. I've pretty much decided I'm not going to make any more weapons until I get master weaponsmith. I will probably grind 10 million compononets....but with 2 factories it should go relatively fast once I have the materials.

Thanks for the posting, makes it feel like someone reads what I write

The mention of harvester upkeep in the previous post brings to mind a question--when you shut a harvester off, does it still tick down on the maintenance or does it just freeze?

It sounds like now that you don't get the XP boost from factories that you once did.
