His information above was correct you DID get the items out of the crate with stats.... I just read elsewhere that they reverted to before fridays patch b/c it created a huge issue with something else (haven't found out what) so for a short while he was correct but as of now i belive we are back to nothing useful in the crates

I might as well toss my frustrations in here as well. PU's are my main source of income and I have four factories running them at all times. I was trying to fill 3 big orders when the new patch hit.....great I think, finally something works. I make 70 crates and fill two orders, all is well. I sell another 25 crates or so through my vendor.

I log on the next morning...to email after email from customers who tell me the PU's they purchased from me had no stats coming out of the crates. I then spend 1/2 of that day refunding everyones money and taking back crate after crate of worthless junk I made thanks to a bug fix patch.....wow, nice going. All told I am out $245,000 worth of PU's sales THAT I ALREADY HAD SOLD and had to take back to maintain a good relationship with my customers.

I submitted a bug report with complete details of my problem AND kept all my bad crates loaded back into my vendor as proof of just what this mess cost me. Have I heard anything back yet? NO! So I am certainly out time, money and resources...not to count the less than stellar confidence my customers now have of buying from me that I have to rebuild. The least the devs should do in cases like this where a bug clearly cost many of us crafters a LOT of money is credit that cash to our in game accounts. I can put up with all the other bugs we deal with, heck I have been by the fact I am still playing this game, but when I am trying to make a living in game as a crafter and they do this...costing me a weeks worth of income....it gets very upsetting. They have a chance here to make things right and credit us that cash or they can turn aside and ignore us and lose who knows how many SWG customers. I for one can only deal with stuff like this for so long and then I will be looking for another game to play.

I am still waiting for my CSR ticket to be responded to with some answers....either they are or are not going to credit the cash. I am watching my accounts....and nothing has happend yet.

A small gilmmer of hope although very very very small.

I had a crate of PSGS I had many a night or so ago. Pulled 1 out this morning and it was the corrent stats. Pulled one out of the crate this evening and it has 20/10 resist and 2500 dur which seems to be some generic mods. The first one works correctly, the 2nd doesn't work at all.

So the glimmer of hope is that the items might gain their stats back if you pull them out of a crate when they fix it. This might not be a creation problem in the factory, but a problem when pulling the item out of the crate.

Yeah not a peep here either.. of course they deleted all the outstanding petitions I had from release that were never addressed either and I had to delete 2 chars because of, so not really expecting a response anyways.. just screwed as usual.

So, did the supposed fix in today's release notes do any good? I'm ready to set up a powerup factory when someone confirms that they work right.

Well I was excited when logging in and noticed they said they had a fix. Of course, fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me! I ran one crate through one of my factories. Stats are still NOT showing up on the crate however they did fix the powerup that you pull from the crate...it now has stats.

So, we are making progress. Problem is, in selling these, people pretty much want to see the stats on the crate they are buying before plunking down cold hard cash. This is really true after crates for two days were distributed that had no stats AND the pu's had no stats either. I personally refunded ALL my customers money in situations where this happened. I did however hear some others did not, effectively saying take it up with the developers! I can see why some people are sour.

Can we get a real fix?? I am basically still out of business until this gets resolved.

And another thing, SOE have you ever heard of the concept called testing? You know, you actually use the test server to test changes with a QA team?

Oh and SOE? Redeed this (grabs body part).

Okay, now I feel better - lol

If you watched the patch process happen you'd have seen that it was put in place late Friday, early Saturday. However something went screwy (happens some times when you run servers and I can understand it) and they had to roll it back to a restore point around lunchtime.

As far as testing, go to the test server and see how much they test it. With as complex a system as this game is, it's going pretty well (despite people's incessant complaining and whining) I think.

Simple solution...beta test longer...

And we are CUSTOMERS...the product is a game...so that makes us player CUSTOMERS. Customer complaints are not "whines". They are valid demands of customers to get what they paid for - on the advertising, so don't bring up the EULA. I don't think it'd stand up in court since you only see it AFTER you buy the package.

I worked for a large fortune 500 MNC, and part of the business is complex encryption algorithms for encrypted communications up to and including NATO. To launch ONE satellite TV service - beta test period is 3 years, and 53 revisions of software...

Sony is supposed to be bigger, better, and have more cash in R & D...or so their corporate website claims. So, why can't they do better?

I enjoy the game...when it works...but I don't enjoy the downtime. Small issues are not a problem, but launching a bug-ridden program, losing harvesters, structures, etc...thiese are major.

So, next time you buy a TV and it breaks within 14 days of purchase, why don't you just keep it and do a workaround, like go to your neighbour's to watch your favourite shows instead of "whining" to your local electrical outlet?

WellI redeeded and tried it this morning and mine are still COMPLETELY BROKEN... I could have lived with it if the actual powerups in the crates had stats, but unlike what was posted above... they don't.

TheCRATES LIST NO STATSand the POWERUPS insideHAVE NO STATS. Thanks for the bad info posted above.. I am now up to 75 crates of worthless powerups as my supply of irreplaceable materials to make the 32/16 powerups continues to dwindle away.

If you're not sure if it worked for your stuff, DON'T MAKE A MILLION OF THEM! Make a few and see if it works and you won't feel so mad when you get 75 crates of junk.

And yes, I had a partial run and had to destroy four or five crates of junk. But I got them to work yesterday so I'm happy. I even got another +damage powerup in my experimenting.

Sorry for my rude posts above. My frustration got the best of me, and I should be able to act better on these forums.

Bugs are killing this game, and there is no excuse for how SOE implements changes. They make changes almost daily. This is a schematic (sorry I could resist) for disaster. I have never worked in an operational environment that would ever attempt to make daily changes. It is far better off to make no change than to make a change that breaks something.

I think it's easy for us on the outside (only players) to snipe and make snide remarks without knowing how complex or difficult the situation is on the inside. I've been in computer support long enough to know and I've done the help desk thing as well as being a sysadmin now. I've seen the problem from the fence and the inside as well as being a user. It's seldom as simple as it seems and bagging on them doesn't help fix the issues. A game as complex as this has got to be a bear to work on, tweaking one bug only to discover you've caused another.

Well I’ve been around the block – with over twenty years of experience in helpdesk support, telecommunications admin, network admin with current CNE and MCSE certs, and currently a network systems manager with experience with large data environments to the tune of 4 terabyte database supporting 2 million customers for a four billion dollar company and designed the DS3 ATM network to support three call centers for that system, so I understand complexity.

What I don’t understand is SOE’s obvious inept change control process that allows huge bugs to creep into the base code. Poor execution is always a result of either poor planning or incompetent technicians so take your pick as to the reason why we always get new bugs with patches.

While I agree that customers have a voice when it comes to a product they pay for I must add that when posts are not constructive they are whineing and not at all helpful. There is a huge difference between voicing a complaint with details to back it up and posting rudely with no suggetions or comments on a potential fix.

I want everyone to post their problems and I really enjoy reading the suggetions and ideas that pop up on thses forums but it is much nicer when the posts are helpful and layed out in a thoughtful manner. Count to 10 before you post and think about how you would fix the problem if it was your job to do so
