Don't get too upset about this. It has been stated that this structure maintenance change will be followed very shortly by an account purge which will whack all structures owned by canceled players who meet the purge criteria.
And, I expect CSR policy may change a bit as well.
This is a great change, and makes the game a lot more friendly to folks who are casual players or for newbies who might not understand the consequences of forgetting to top up all their structures.

sweeeet but what happens when a player with 20million quits and the house stays there forever, there is a merchant tent in the city that i live in that no one uses, it has 18days left on it, my roomate had admin on it, he hasnt played in 11 months...... so what happens when this happens, he had 10 million in the bank...
I read that as the account will need to be *active* for the bank-debit process to work. (i.e. SOE is going to be collecting their monthly fee) If the player has quit the game, then once the structure reaches 0 maintainence it will decay and when it reaches condemned status should be removed.

The structure change is one of my favorites. I had an entire field of my factories just up and die on me in a week I was gone. With them died millions of credits worth of inventory. The only remnat was a single e-mailmessage saying: "Your structure at x,y,z has decayed to 0%. It will be destroyed when it reaches 0%"
I'll be pleased beyond all belief once this goes through. It should ensure there will be no more random factory removals.

Hehe I just got ehail from like june-july about a struct that ran out of maintenece. I was on my secondary server that I logged into 3-4 time a month. But I remeber saying to myself, " Is wore I logged out infront of my house?', no more WP to it, no emails. Then I log in last night and I have like 12 emails saying "Your house....
I'm not worried about it, but I know I checked my emails along time ago. right after myhouse was gone.

Sorry about the bugged factories but Architects don't think this is the best solution

I'll bet not. There's very little repeat business as an architect under the current system. Under this new system the only repeat customers architects will ever see are people who accidently delete buildings and need to buy replacements. If I were an architect this would seriously make me consider a profession change.

I have been an architect since launch and I will always be an arch. I love it and always will
