What I find funny is the year or so before release we were told over and over and over again by the devs that they wanted to make the game as near Star Wars reality as possable. I played the old RPG and a STAR SHIP sold for about 50k credits for a really really good one. Now we have people paying 250k for a mount.

"Its not possable to tell people how much to charge" They sure as hell tell them that every day and twice on sunday when they use the bazzar.....

You can do the exact same thing with anything. They already have the code. Just give each item a max credit.

" Oh my god do you know how much work that would be??" I payed $50 for the game and $15 a month to play it. Let them earn it, not like there doing much for game content.

"What about the freedom to charge what you as a player want to charge?" No one ever said the entire universe was made up of capitalists. If they dont do something then this is just a watered down crap version of something that was once great. There will be nothing even remotely like starwars left.

The other thing they could do is make the max transfer of credits equal 50k every 24 hours between the same two players. This would also help stablize the economy some. Once star ships come out they can up the amount. I mean really, something needs to be done when a gun cost more than a house.

There are only two things that are infinate. The universe and human stupidity. Im not sure about the universe.

Well, I must say that, yes, some CH's were selling their mounts for astronomical amounts on our server within hours of the patch going live.

However, I sat back and watched to see who was yelling "I'm selling X mount for X-hundred thousand or X-million credits" and those who just shouted "Selling mounts send me /tells with offers". Those CH's who shouted the latter, each one that I talked to, in fact, said that they let the consumer choose their price. They were more concerned with getting as many people fitted up with transportation as humanly possible that day, believe it or not. Unfortunately, I bought one for 20k (which I felt was a good deal and it was all the cash I had in my name) in which the CH didn't tame it to be ridden. When I asked him about it the next day (when I couldn't control it or bring it out of my datapad) he refused to answer my tells. My bad... I was overeager and a bit too zealous to think to ask if he'd trained it before he ran off. /shrug

I guess what I'm trying to say is, though, that if you look hard enough and know what questions to ask, you can find a decent mount in your price range. Furthermore, if the SOE Devs give us the schematics for vehicles under the Engineering tree, I won't sell them for any more than I'd sell anything else: 3 to 5 credits per resource used to make the item (to include sub-combines and the like). I think it's only fair, right? I've got to cover my costs of harvesting the stuff and make a small profit, so that keeps me happy.

I am worried, though, that they'll come up with a whole new profession for making vehicles... I say that only because I'm just about out of skill points and I don't want to have to start dropping something I like in order to build something else.

Anyhow, that's just my two creds worth... *ducks* be gentle!

Some of you may have noticed the outrageous prices _some_ CH's are charging to supply/train mounts.

Now I'm not trying to price fix here or rip people off, I'm just suggesting that Artisans everywhere be mindful of the CH's engaging in this........

because when the vehicles hit the Artisan Engineering tree next month you'll know who to return the favour to :-)

How is this being misinterpreted?

You got all pissy cause other ppl spammed CH'ers with offers of big bux, AND like intellighent ppl, we took these awesome offers. Sorry you missed out or thought you got a bum-deal.

No one "fears" your intent. Cuz, most of us realize this is a game, and realize that new crap ALWAYS goes for big bux. Duh... new holos = 15 Million for the first one sold, +14 taming clothing = 500K - 750K during the first 2 weeks they were available... etc.

ppl with functioning brains know why prices WERE high. Those same ppl will understand the high prices for vehicles the first week. (And we also understood your 'intended' pricing scheme.) Thing is, You will have no control of the prices the day vehicles hit the market. They are going to go for REDICULOUS amounts of money.

BTW, How is a "happy" customer ripped off?
All my customers (some paid 200K for their mounted pet) thanked me and bowed to me profusely. They were all /shouting offers, and I accepted the first 3 I saw.

One main reason this is not like the realworld econ. is because you wont find many people offering 10 times the normal price for something they can get at regular price in 4 days or so.

If the devs do the 50k transfer per day you can transfer 50k to the seller and 50k to a friend, then that friend transfers to the seller. you just bought something for 100k. there are ways around everything. I think it is ridiculous to sell a mount for more than 50k. The fact that space ships in the movies cost no more than 50k and some mounts were sold for over a million creds is stupid. When speeders come out I will sell for as low as 20k. I dont want only the super rich and the engineers to have speeders. I want everyone to have one. I plan on supplying my entire guild of 70+ people with speeders for free.

Actually you couldnt be more wrong.....

I have a BE friend who made me a Kaadu and I knew I was going to have to wait a few days for it to grow before it could be trained (so the initial high prices werent an issue). About a day later someone sold me a lesser dewback for 10k and about 4 days after that I had it trained for 5k. Had the lesser Dewback deal not occured a mount would only have cost me 5k!

So no, this isnt anything personal at all. All I illustrating is that for those Artisans who do feel like the CHs are 'taking the mick' there is the possibility for the situation to be reversed

You know sometimes it does pay to read a post and take it at face value.....

I am a master CH myself and I strongly disagree with you when you are saying that CH's are charging way to much for mounts. For the first 2-3 days after mounts came out i had literaly 5-10 ppl msging me asking if i had mounts for sell sooooo many ppl wanted the mounts I myself never set a price It was the people buying them that set the price. The demand was so high that people would just msg me offers of anywhere from 100-400k for a mount without me having to say anything about price. I sold some for as low as 50k and as high as 500k but like i said the demand was so high people would just offer that much and I just sold for what they offered me.

Ashrid,

So then what was your problem with the "Outrageous prices" if you didn't have a problem with the prices--since you had no need to pay them?

Those that DID pay the high prices KNEW why they were high.

As I and others have stated. The initial prices were high for rediculously obvious reasons. And for those exact same reasons, the first vehicles will also be rediculously overpriced.

I read your post and you sounded 'miffed', 'pissy', 'irritated', whatever. I answered you to explain the reason behind the price. An attempt to jack prices for the high-price dealing CH'ers will make no difference in the end. Prices will be dictated by the impatient wealthy players. Just like everything else in the real and virtual world.
