Thread: Quality Item Price Board

One problem I can state, is that almost everyone is new to the game at this point. From my own experience, just three days ago, I had no idea one item was any different from another. They both have the same name, one is 10 credits, the other is 100. I would buy the 10 credit one without knowing I was buying anything different. I started an Artisan to experience life as a crafter, and THEN found the differences. I am forced to wonder if those that start brawlers or marksmen know that there is a quality issue involved. Selling at a higher price for our quality goods may be more of a marketing skill in the future more than anything else. Getting word out to those in other professions that there is indeed a reason it costs a bit more, and that it is worth it.

I can craft powerups that get 26% max damage and 12% mind cost and try to shout sell it for 150c and no one will buy. Try and shout sell a 28-60 CDEF Pistol for 100c - no one buys.

People are idiots - so now my 75dmg powered up CDEF is being holstered by me. And any powerups I make get used personally or I just destroy them.

Well, my group now has Harvesters and those of you who already have them know how expensive they are to run. That means that if we cannot at this point in the game get what are goods are really worth, we will need financial backers to get this through the "Newbie" stage of the game to the point when gamers know what quality merchandise is and are willing to pay for it. Fortunately I have a group of guys who are financing my Harvesters for me. I don't have to run around and do missions in order to keep afloat. They just tip me a few k in credits each day and I keep em running and keep crafting which is what they want me to do. It might be wise for Artisans to "group" in this way with other players just as combat players group to be able to go after big money missions. It is something to think about.

BradelyT,

It seems the key to selling anything is timing. You can be shouting all day to sell something and have no takes only to have someone come by a minute after you log asking for 200 of em. That's why I put my stuff on the bazaar. Generally my stuff will sell of in batches.

I usually only bother selling power ups that have extremely high stats. On Wanderhome server, Corellia, I easily sell Lighten Grips with 26-28% attack speed and about 13% secondary stat for 500 creds. And people burn through those like nothing.

The problem for me though, is that I have to take so much time making the things. First off, the type you make is random, and I hit a lightened one about every 3 times. Then you have to expiriment on them to get the stats up. And all of that for 20-40 xp and 500 credits.

But there definitely is a market, because by the time you can get the stats on the power ups that high, most people havemoved on to their elite, starting making more complex items, or both.

Not to mention that right now I haven't seen tool any resources condusive to making weapon power ups. I don't both with actual weapons as a Master Artisan, I can still only make CDEF crap.
