I've seen a lot of people moaning about the prices they see on the bazaar for resources that are low quality.

thing is though, I've been putting up batches of 250 low quality copper for sale and I've been raising the price steadily. It's up to 2500 now and it still sells withn a few hours.

this is capitalism in all it's 'glory'. whilst people are prepared to pay any price I set for

sorry. I pressed ENTER and it posted.

anyway, as I was saying, whilst people are paying any price for resources it won't matter that the more experienced player sees all these rip-offs on the bazaar and moans about it - there are still plenty of people around who will pay a lot for something they can't (or won't) go and get for themselves.

I think the veteran player will soon have a network of contacts they go to to buy resources privately at much mroe reasonable rates.

I have no problems with this... I opperate and own havesters too... and that's just cover your costs ( I have travel costs as well) and to make a profit. What bothers me is the master weapon/armor smith that mines there own materials and sells weapons for 10k... that's crazy and outrageous.

considering that the weapons would cost well under 1k to make if they run there own harvestors.

10cr is definitly fair if it is a good quality rare resource (link-steel alum and such). I generaly sell inorganics for 5cr and organics for 3cr.

I disagree, 10cr is outragous

time is not 'money' when your playing a game for fun. This implies that you play the game, but it's not fun for you. I suggest either changing your profession or playing another game.

Guys I think economics works something like this.

What the market will bear is what the price will be.

I sell everything under 900 quality for 3c/per but I do that for an easy sale.

I have seen Weaponsmiths offering 10 to 100 per resource on rare resources that they need. If they are willing to pay 100c/per then I don't see any reason to say that selling at 10c/per is unfair or ripping people off.

As to the time is money statement. There are always things about it that aren't fun. Some people don't enjoy having to run 10 missions to earn enough money to buy a new harvester or weapon but they do enjoy the game. A person that goes out to kill stuff specificly to harvest hides and bone to sell might not be having fun doing it, they are doing it because the have to. In that case time is money to them since they could be doing something else they enjoy but are forced to do something to earn money in the game.

Also to add on to that. Some people have fun by making money in the game. Those people don't have fun selling at much lower than the market will bear just because of someones idea of fairness. If my in game goal was to become the first ingame billionaire then I can guarentee you that Iwouldn't be selling for a penny less that what people are willing to pay for it.

The market price for resources will be what it will be. People won't buy stuff at a high price if it is readily available at a lower price so the market will determine fairness in the long run.

Honestly, for me it heavily depends on the resource, I base my prices on market demand. I sell resources only on the bazaar. The lowest resources I've sold were Corn and Oats at 1u/2cr ratio. Most metals seem to go Easily for 1u/3cr and within 24h for 1u/4cr. However, the insane item to sell is Ore. There are some very very wealthy people who don't care so long as they get the quantity they need. I've sold ore as high as 1u/15cr... and when I say sell, I don't mean sell a single stack, I mean sell 10+ stacks in 24h. My general rule of thumb is, if all of my resources sell within 24h they are priced to low, raise the cr/u ratio 1 point. If they don't sell within 24h my ratio is to low, lower the cr/u ratio 1 point. It all works out and things sell at market price, when I see things under my currently determined market value I purchase them and resell them back into the market... keeps things nice and level.
