So now you're threatening to quit over a rumor?

I would like vehicles to become a MA item ... and it's completely selfish, since I am a Master Artisan and would like to be able to do something more with it. Supplying my PA with components is nice and all ... but not what I had envisioned when I started down this route. (And please note loomis001 that I did not state that they will be moved ... only that I would like them to be moved before going live.)

I think it should be Master Artisan at least as opposed to engineering 4, there is as other people have said not much to make MAworthwhile doing, and this would mean people couldnt just shoot up to engineering 4 to make them (it doesnt take long at all).At least then you have to put in a bit more effort into it.

With people saying oh its going to be engineering 4 thats what it is on the test server, well the test server is excactly that just a test, they've said themselves its not confirmed how you will get to make vehicles they even said it may involve a quest to get the blueprints which I dont think is a that bad an idea, at least then we wouldnt have everyone with speeders the day they come out.

I shall be sad if it is left at Eng IV - thats pathetic. Also it is harder to makepistols thanvehicles as it is. It needs more resource types and maybe sub-components. I want it to be interesting - not a large version ofa powerup - with less to experimental meaning.

Move to it to MA and make it more fun to make (hell give tailors and DE's subcomponents to make for em) anything other than this bland ferrous/non-ferrous mixing tub to churn out mass numbers of them.

Hell I can churn out 100+ easily with the current requirements - I expectmany otherscan too. I think that within 1hr of live these things will be going for cost - or less. I'll get some grinding resources and churn em out on the bazaar at 3k a pop and still make cash.

if they do move vehicles to master art i will be clearly disapointed, reason I personly dont think wasting my points for a skill box i never use(except for vehicles). Also i will quit becaus if they truly do this it will make vehicles scarce and unstarwarssy .. I can see it now will be sold 100k creds

If that is all that it will take for you to quit, you might want to evaluate if you are getting your money's worth from this game. But odds are you are doing like so many other people... thinking that if they threaten to quit it will somehow coerce the Devs into giving them "their way."

Your arguments are without merit. Vehicles will not be scarce if moved to Master Artisan. There are plenty of Master Artisans, the materials are cheap and the schematic is simple. In fact, it is very factory friendly, meaning that Master Artisans will be able to churn these out. This also discredits your "100k" price tag. While demand will be high, supply will be very high also and the product will be easy to obtain. To get a mount you have to find a CH that is almost to the top of his professional tree and who has invested the time into obtaining and raising the mount. With vehicles, you will be able to buy them from player vendors or even the bazaar.

This would not change the "starwarssy"-ness of vehicles.

And there is still the xp issue. If the schematic remains the same, and at Engineering IV, people will be able to grind vehicles to blow through general crafting xp. At least someone who has gotten to Master Artisan has put the work into the class and has passed on that knowledge to other players. These are the kind of people that deserve to make vehicles rather than just components and bird cages. Not people blowing through crafting just to grind a Holo-profession or too whiny and lazy to run enough missions to make a few thousand credits.

Having Eng IV make vehicles would have been like letting scouts with Hunting IV tame and sell mounts.

I also will be disappointed if this ends up in Engineering IV. It takes no time to grind one tree of Artisan. About 20k metal and some survey tools and you're set. A couple hours later and you have anyone that can make vehicles, and make them in mass quantities. The market will flood. People will be selling vehicles for the same prices as personal harvesters. Yeah, it's affordable, but it kills the business of those who actually want to, well... have some business.

Master Artisans have very little of note. A bird cage is our only stand alone item. Pathetic. The components we can make are used by elite professions that would be better off obtaining Master Artisan and running a few crates themselves. We have 10 experimentation points.. but so does anyone that's mastered the Engineering and Dom. Arts lines.

Vehicles will not be scarce, and they will not sell for 100k for one simple reason - factories. You can't pop a mount trained carrion spat into a factory with some meat and DNA, set it for 100, and watch it mass produce. There are plenty of Master Artisans, you simply never see us because we cando nothing useful.

Vehicles were VERY rare in the "real" star wars. Anyone remember Luke complaining about the price he got for his speeder when he sold it to the Jawa's? It was his most important posession and it got him alot of money to get off the planet.

Vehicles should be under Master Artisan.

From what I heard is that there is no special items needed to made vehilce's an sense it takes only engineering 4. im guessin they will be pretty easy to find someone who is willing to make u one for like 7k or 10k creds. now if u think about that. thats pretty dam cheap. its actualy really easy to get up to 10k creds from mission's. just do like 2 or 3 destroy mission's and your set. these things wont be scarce, alot of people will have them. the only thing i dont like is that they can be target. so if some jealous moron see's ur bike or speeder, he can just target it. what i dont know is how much repair cost's will be. other then that. i got no problem with them coming in a month or so. good day sir

All i seem to hear in how worthless MA is well boo hoo guess what its a novice profession even if you are a master marksmen you arent to much more proficient with any one weapon then someone who just has lvl 4 in that weapon oh you get overcharge shot 2, Great hey its powerful but if you have a kick arse weapon that you want to hang onto for a while you wont be using it because after 25 shots your down to 50%, point being its just one step toward an elite profession, maybe they have plans for that dang bird cage in the future, I have grinded my way to architect just in case it was going to be an elite profession and horded so many reasources that i could fill my own planet, And i am a lil disapointeed that its going to be engineering 4 but hey better for me i will make a crate of swoops drop it and go for something else i have never been. Hmm I always wonderd what BH was like!!! oh yea and humans get that 1 super duper experimentation point that other races dont ... Maybe you could make money selling experimented small harvestors mine are as good as mediums at small costs and smalss can go darn near anywhere they practically sell themselfs (to newbies and cheap arses)

Perhaps you are right, in some respects. It is a novice profession. But -something- separates the other novice Masters from their one or two tree counterparts. Those defense points in marksman and brawler, they come in handy. Harvesting more as a master scout, also valuable. No, it's not a grand change, but then again... those novice mastery are usually used for elite advancement; required for it. No one really has to get Master Artisan to advance.

I think I am just getting old and bitter It's not worth whining about, no, nor is it hardly worth whimsical dreams. But hey, one can always toss in a thought on what they'd like to see added.

I doubt moving it to MA would really make a lot of difference.

If the item, in this case a Speeder Bike, is percieved as 'Cool' enough, everyone will just grind into MA anyway. It doesn't take that much longer than Eng IV alone; wind turbines for ENG/DA/Business and afk survey macroingfor the rest. Then just hand out enough cash in front of a starport and the AXP takes care of itself. Then everyone would be an MA. Look at CH vs DEnow...a similar situation.

That MA does or, does not, need something better and special,is a different matter. (Personally, I don't think it needs much else; it's the top of a Novice profession afterall. Useful for a sense of completeness, and for component supply tomy chosenElite profession, but not that special itself.)

If anything, why not make Junk-Bikes *easier* to make; then you won't get a million people with Eng IV and time on their hands collapsing the Bone Armour and Personal Harvestermarkets utterly?

Hard enough for genuinely new Artisans to get a foot on the ladder as it is.

But if you make a profession *too* useful, everyone trains into it, and you lose the rareness of supply of these useful bits and pieces, that made it popular in the first place.

I would love to see them craftable by Engineering IV, Domestic might help with the trim, but surveying and the other one.. (Sorry it was pointless for me so I have ignored it and now cannot remember what it is called ) have nothing to add when creating vehicles.

I would love to have seen an engineering profession that build vehicles or bigger components for installations and eventually space faring vehicles, but i guess it isnt going to happen until SE if at all

As it is my artisan skills are depreciating and Engi IV is next in line, I hope that I get a chance to build some.

My guess is this guy isn't actually reading the responces... In no way will vehicles be rare. If they make MA cool, by giving them vehicles, more people will become one and hang on to it once they do. Its not that hard to do, and I did it before harvesters gave general crafting exp.
