I expect prices for a standard vehicle to be around 1 to 2k.

Why on earth wouldone sell a vehicle for 1k when you can easilysell the requiredraw materialsat 3 timesthat priceon the bazaar? Not on your life...

Not unless these vehicles become grinding items, like personal harvesters. I don't makesmall harvestersfor people anymore, because there are always plenty of them on the bazaar being sold below cost by grinding artisans. 'Cost' in this context meaning the market value of the raw materials.

Actually I think this is an argument that holds a lot of weight that didn't occur to me just now - though not like it's a huge issue - but from a pure time sink to mastering a profession position, how ridiculously easy would it be to grind Artisan? At 1,250 resources a vehicle, 2,500 xp per vehicle - you could grind out domestic arts and business inlike 2 minutes. Gosh, I wish I had these when I was skilling up to weaponsmith, I could have gotten the XP for the Novice box in 60 seconds!

As for survey ... /afk sample while you sleep and you're all set. Sheesh.

I agree that vehicles should be moved to master. Eng. 4 is just too easy to get. It would add something to the master artisan that is worth getting it.

I dont think they are going to move it to MA. because they promised space craft for MA. And guess what, they were NOT happy about the 300k cost of mounts. Han Solo payed 50k for the Millenium Falcon. 50K! a **edit** mount would cost him a few hundred credits. And SOE has been trying to keep the game as true to the movies as possible. If they were smart they would make vehicles a pretty easy thing to make. Flood the market and get the prices correct. This way other prices will drop and people will be less likely to pay 5 million credits for a space craft instead of the recommended 50-100k. So far, this game economy has done really well. I think they want to keep it controlled.

"Plus now vehicles will have the scarcity that they need."

Vehicles are the first thing in a long time that actually adds to the "Star Wars" universe. I'd rather see each person with 3 vehicles out than 1 mount or 1 pet.

These won't be rare at all, unless they make the schematics 20 times harder than they currently are. You will not get the 100k+ price that mounts got, because of the simple fact that I or any other Master artisan can load a schematic and come back the next day with 100+ vehicles done to pop onto a vendor. 10-20k I would guess is going to be the going rate.

People wanting a scarcity of vehicles or for extreme difficulty in making them are simply showing their own greed and elitism.

I say put it in novice artisan or Eng I and let the newbies finally have something to sell. You know they're going to cost a minimum of 4k credits each simply due to the resources required.

I'm glad the devs don't listen to some of you any more than they listen to me. These aren't living creatures ... they're snap-together dirtbikes. Someone had posted that vehicles should be in the droid engineer profession. I had to laugh. It's not a droid. It's not a weapon or a pair of pants. And it's not a big cupcake. It's a vehicle. Think of the Star Wars universe and its technology:

You've got a device that you take a schematic, drop all the ingredients into a hopper, and it grinds and churns out a product for you. Ding! Your rifle is done. Ding! Here's your large Naboo house. What's so different from dropping various metals into the hopper and getting out a flying motorcycle? (or a VW bug landspeeder)

I think its a good idea to have it on Master Artisan. Everyone has engineering 4 that is any type of crafter. Otherwise, when space vehicles come out, make a whole new profession off of engineering and then add them to that.

You know, I would love to be able to charge only 5-10 times resource cost for vehicles, but you just know there are pricks who will turn right around and sell them to idiots for 50-100 times what they bought it for.

In principle there's nothing wrong with this, but it would keep my prices as high as I could get them.

they should add components from all the artison profetions(accept merchent).. even something silly like renforcement cores from weapon smiths or sheild generators from armor smiths. or logical compenents likefusion ion drive from archetect ect...

if they are going to be better then pets(faster atleast)make them worth a whole lot more, insted of 6-10k(after the hype goes down) to 300k-500k. by adding a whole lot of parts.

I cant believe people are quoting 3 credits per unit for resources as a guide for costs.

GOOD resources most often cost more than double that.

The 3 cpu resources are only used for grinding xp.

My opinion is: Expect good quality vehicles to be about 15-20K.

I dont think this price rangeis outrageous. New players will have to do some missions and save for a week to get one, established players with a good income can afford it immediately. Sounds fine to me!

1-3 K is simply ridiculous, in my opinion.

And the beginning vehicles should definutely be moved to Master Artisan. Perhaps with specific parts being made with Eng 4 .. but putting it all together MA.

Personally i think that MA should get 1 vehicle .. the smallest/slowest/most-basic one, and all other vehicles in an elite profession. That probably wont happen tho. So my suggestion above is a second choice option for me.

I am looking forward to vehicles, very much.

What kind of game is SWG now?

Pre-CU:
Master Artisan, Master Shipwright, Master Merchant, Pistoleer 0020:
Favourite Weapon: FW-G5, Happy
After CU:
Much the same, but CL 54, Favourite Weapon FW-G5, Still happy
After NGE Game Downgrade:
Trader (Structures), same skills as every other trader in same specialty, CL2, can only use a CDEF, and no armor, NOT Happy -> Cancelled Account

I can't believe how willing everyone is to rape the general populace over something this simple. Come on guys... I am a master artisan and fully intend to sell the vehicles I create for 10% over material cost, like I do everything else. Since most of them will be made in a factory, it's not like it takes alot of *your* own time. Set the factory to run and go to bed. When you wake up... vehicles will be ready for sale. And besides... this is a game... it's supposed to be fun... I personally derive no pleasure from raping my customers. A good businessman never does. Do I have over a million credits? Yes... did it take me months to get there? Yes. Was it worth it? You betcha... we artisans need to stand together and stop this inflation.... the free market economy has made people rich... it will also be their downfall.

Lame, sounds like you master artisans get to soak in the money like the Creature Handlers did when mounts were released.

I guess if I want a vehicle I better get out that money duping guide and get to work!

There's a big difference between the mounts and vehiocles when it comes to pricing. If the schematic remains the same, vehicles will be childishly easy to make. Get a ton of grind metal, a factory, and go to town. For every MA trying to price gouge, there will be Merchants like me who will use cheap vehicles to bring people into their shops. All people have to do is not take the first deal they see in their mad rush to get a vehicle. Shop around a bit. Since these are deeds, you can buy them off player vendors and the bazaar, unlike mounts.

Moving vehicles to the MA box will help stem the flood of people just using these to holo-grind. Think about it... 15 vehicles (roughly) to get Novice Architect.
