I just have to say ... I've NEVER had any problems getting the AP I need.
Most of the time I'm at my cap and can't gain any more.

A few steps to get those points easier:
#1 Make your character searchable.
#2 Put the profession tag over your head, the one you think people need the most.
#3 Keep yourself near large cities.

and most important of all:
#4 Talk to people!! Communicate, socialize and interact with other players.

Come on people. This is for all the people out there that are complaining about APP. XP STOP right now. it is not all that hard. I started out as an artisan I am now a Master Artisan going for Master ArmourSmith as well as Master TKA. I have plenty APP. XP I turn down people who want me to teach them so other people around can get the xp. And I am sorry about all the people that are saying "but I play in the early morning no one is on" I work night shift I am ONLY on at night and the wee hours off the morning I even have to go through the sever shut downs and I have never paid anyone to let me teach them a skill. So gaining APP. XP is not that hard stop crying about it.

Oh, please. You can't tell me the Apprentice XP requirement was a surprise! It's right there in your skill tree!

Get a grip. Apprentice XP is pitifully easy to get. I'm maxxed out, and have never had to pay someone to train them. Just respond to training requests whenever you get them, and you'll be set.

Your problem was A) Ignorance, followed by B) needing a ton of apprentice XP at the last munute. An ounce of planning would have saved you the grief.

Wow. This is way harsh. You feel better after posting this?

I wish people who had constructive input would post and people who needed to 'grief' would find something else to do with their time.

I agree with Alacrity.
I train anyone at any time. I am always maxxed out with App points.
It is soooooo easy to get them. Just pay attention to the chat window, and send the people a tell faster than some other guy, and you get the points!
Or, when you group with people to go fight something, check everyone out and see if you can teach them. Most of the time you can teach something to someone in the group.

One of the least painful ways to get App exp is the entertainer profession. A popular cantina will always have a lot of people grinding entertainer. The reason it's a less painful way to go is that you'll at least have people to chat with while grinding unless they are afk : ).
