Thread: A Call to Repair Repair Tools
I totally agree This tool is not up to the measures it should have the more work/resources/money/skill you put into an item should improve that item in some way either in xp or infinalproductionper use but this problem isnt restricted to just 1 tool its is the same with all repair tools droid weapon and armor repair tools i would hope the devs would look into some of the artisian bugs after all the artisian class workers are the back bone of the game structure.
Bringing up again since patch re functionality - now it is fairly obvious that components do not affect repair tools, even with the huge additional expenditure of resources and time. My understanding is that, to the contrary, architects *are* getting better functionality when they use components on crafting stations.
I created 2 tools one with all the components and one without, did full experimentation, used v high quality resources, and got exactly the same functionality on both tools.
I have not tested the tools themselves however. Can anyone confirm that components are still not affecting repair results?
Has anyone talked to the artisan correspondent on this? I mean, what's the point of master artisan? As it stands we might as well sell repair kits at 200 a pop since they only take 15 resources...
And what about repair skills? Do artisans get better results or not? I do get people asking , "anyone around repair weapons?" as if it were a skill like slicing, but I feel bad charging anything if all I have to do is sell the guy a 200-400 credit tool for 5 whole uses! It seems that combat non-artisan players really *want* repairing to be a specialized skill that they can run around and find some help on, but the dev's have not responded on this...
Please lemme know status if anyone is aware. Thanks for the info!
Just wanted to comment on Stelsvik's suggestion to only repair once the item is nearly spent. However for combat types who are very concerned with having a top quality item, the sub 50% condition modifiers are very unattractive. At the moment, I wait until the item reaches around 55% condition and then take my chances with repair.
