Thread: 40K Condition Swoop?!?

Interesting.....

my question is.....if this is a bug or an exploit.......if you get your hands on one and use it, are you allowed? would that person (seller/creator buyer/owner) get banned?

Having harvestors all over the place on some of the more dangerous planets, and having an odd thing going on with the singing mountain clans (they attack me, incapp me, destroy my bike, leave....they don't kill me anymore )

I would LOVE to have one of these....

In all seriousness, is this a bannable item to have? Can we own them without fear of retribution?

mildly obnoxioius, yet pleasantly annoying....

When vehicles first hit Test Center, they had 40K Condition, no matter how you crafted them. After the schematic was changed and the code tweaked to make each vehicle have its own distinct speed and handling, the Condition was dropped to what we now see on Live. I actually have 6 of the Original 40k Condition vehicles from the first week or two of vehicle crafting. They are great to have, if you don't want to repair every few hours of use, however when you do repair them they will eat away at your credits. I just repaired one of mine for 65K credits.

I wouldn't be to surprised if this coding bug poped up with the radial menu change that was added to allow you to call a Vehicle from the tool bar.

As long as this has been around, it's not a bug-it's just a reward for making the effort to use quality resources. So....WHAT ARE THEY? Is it copper and....what? Is it something else? What are the best ferrous and non-ferrous metals to use and what stats should we be looking for on each resource? Over all quality? Something else? Someone with hard, specific information, PLEASE post it for other crafters to use if they so desire! Thanks.

This bug has nothing to do with the artisan, resources, ormethod of crafting. I won't post specific information on how to recreate the bug here, because I consider it an exploit.

I could seriously use one of these vehicles, but also do not want to violate the agreement.
Thanks for your time.

There has been no word on whether the possession of these is a bannable offense.

In my opinion (that and a $3.00 would get you a latte), I don't think we'll see these have the smack down laid on them. Don't know, of course.

Hehe, ty Guru

So we can assume it's a "use at your own risk" kind of situation at the moment?

I'm sure possession wont be a bannable offense-Sony et al havent made any widespread announcement about them, so I doubt they'd take that extreme a measure. If the developers are that worried about it, they can just program them out of the game.

They probably are saying they're an exploit so those who use them can feel like they're getting away with something, adding to the renegade flavor some like in their games. Maybe possession of one will be a crime that stormtrooper squads will scan for and then attack you if you're in violation.

Someone above wrote that all speeders had 40K HAM at one point and he still has a number of those original ones.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear on this one.....

The 40k Condition vehicles were the original incarnation of what vehicles appeared as on TC. They were changed to what we see now on Live. Some of the bugs that pop up, from time to time, are due to conflicts in the coding that can arise when people do things that aren't intended and actually go out of thier way to do these sort of actions. This would be the case with the 40k Condition speeders on that we see on Live.

This is a bug and should be squashed at some point, however since it falls some what low on the priority scale - Credit duping, JtL, Combat Revamp to name a few of the higher priority fixes - we more then likely won't see a fix for some time. This does not mean that it won't be a retroactive fix, meaning that anyone that has a 40K Condition vehicle could lose this vehicle at some later point down the line when this issue is addressed.

Just like the Uber no-CH pets that were phased out, the 40k Condition vehicles could see the same fate. I feel for anyone that currently is paying out large sums of credits to buy these vehicles and for those that are selling them, because at some point both will be biten by a fix just like some Bio Engineers were.

A friend of mine got a hold of one, and clear as day 40k HAM. Day or so later he was contacted/in contact with a DEV , which resulted in teh destruction of said bike because it is a known exploit.. hehheh lets see if they start busting people for this one.

I seriously doubt this is an exploit. Someone above wrote that all speeders had 40K HAM at one point and he still has a number of those original ones. Your artisan correspondent noted this so-called bug and reported it over a year ago! If they wanted to change this, it would have been changed LONG ago and all speeders would be capped at something like 2K HAM. This is not an exploit or the developers would have nerfed it quite easily during some mini-publish back in '03.

So, is anyone daring enough to give some info on what are the best metals to use when crafting speeders, in order to get the best results for high HAM? (For the righteous wiener above who so indignantly responded to my previous crass, boisterous email, that's called 'experimentation'. Something done to research the best production methods so they can consistently be implemented. Doi!)

I disagree. It is an exploit and a bug. At the risk of revealing too much, it isn't experimentation or resource quality that makes this happen.

It has been reported and acknowledged as such.

Take care,
Guru

Its funny out of all the posts no one seems to have bothered to actually write an in-game ticket to CSR asking about the 40k swoops. Seems only one person bothered to report it. If you had actually written a ticket, like i did, when i was told how to create them, I asked CSR if they are aloud.

The reply I got was that its a know bug/exploit and that very soon they will all be deleted and anyone owning one, should report it so they can have their 40k swoop replaced with a fare one.

So there ya go, I wouldn't waste my money on buying them off anyone.
