Welcome Bianca!

I don't think this topic was intended to be a debate on AFK-macroing, folks.

I will say that I agree that bugs should be fixed before anything else, however. The sampling-fresh-resources bug and the waypoint-sticking bug irritate me to no end.

Congrats on your new job! As to the points you laid out:

1) AFK-Sampling: This is the harvester of last resort for the starting character & the exceptionally poor character. (Before they nerfed radioactive sampling, I'd been known to use it to get power to run my harvesters from time to time.) However, at this point I think it is sufficiently impeeded that it's not anyones first choice to get vast amounts of resources so I don't see it as that big a problem when somebody "abuses the system" by taking advantage of this.

2) Bug fixes before balancing: Yes & no. There are some issues that would best be described as "balance" that render some professions virtually unplayable. These deserve high priority to be solved, but thankfully, none of them are Artisan issues. (Though many of them ARE elite professions off of Artisan....) The only "balance" issue for Artisan that leaps to mind is that by Master Artisan we can make something of every line from our elite professions EXCEPT a droid. Perhaps MSE droids (along with a basic storage module) should be moved to Eng IV or MA?

3) Artisans & the GCW: I agree. I've said it before and I'll say it again, why is there anything available in the game that is not player craftable? Whether we're talking Faction items, NPC items, etc. (with the exception of "junk" loot drops, which are just a waste of time & db space in my opinion), either an Artisan or an Elite Crafter should be able to make it as well.

And you didn't ask, but the thing I'd like to see introduced the most is having the Junk Dealers include a "recylce" fuction so CDEF weapons and the like could be traded in for 5% of their source materials. Recycled materials would always be of a base type (recycled steel, recycled gem, recycled ore) and have mediocre, but permanently static, stats. Crafting items from these recycled materials would always produce sub-par products (but architects might not mind), but schematics based on them would be universally usable as you could ALWAYS get "recycled copper" to make survey tools with. Along the same lines, sold for cash, ANYTHING should be able to be sold to the Junk Dealer, so if I want to get rid of all my "onsie-twosies" of resources, I can get some modest amount of money for them. Or a partial refund on a shuttle ticket I bought in error. Or....

At MA you are making stuff for the DE - Everything in that set of items you get are needed by a DE. In fact, it's such a necessity that almost every DE is also a MA. GP and EMMs are used by the thousands (I consume about 1K of each a week), control units, microsensor suites are also directly used and power-regulators indirectly through the architect power core which is used in GonK droids. Not to mention batteries by the thousands....
