Thread: Sale of Vehicle Customization Kits still strong?
haha, welcoem to the silly world of dev decissions ![]()
/sarcasm off
now let me tell u something, there was before the patch here a post about this on artisan board and i promised u all not to get to exited about this customising, because the devs stated before it will work same as droid customising, and the droid customising SUCKED!
it is not time based its based about how often u call your vehicle, for droids it was 20 calls and color is gone. perid.
this more then silly short time only resulted in ppl never again wanted to color a droid after they found out how fast it wears off.
so expect your wannabe business with vehicle kits to be gone very soon.
well, now the publish7 postings from the devs promise to extent the customising time? calls?
now thats the right step, but i am very afraid that they just double it to like 40 calls, which would be still more then stupid.
ppl pay surely for eyecandy like colors, just to have some fun and feel of more unique things. but if its to short ppl are definately NOT buying these tools. so i hope the devs think wisely about it and make it like 2000 calls, then it would be reasonable.
i was very dissapointed about droid kits and many DEs were complaining and only now after artisans start also to complain about vehicle kits, the devs react (odd, isnt it?). now i can only hope they do it right this time.

I'm right there with ya Veers, I'm still hoping, but my 6mo sub is about up.It doesn't make anysense to leasebad codefrom lackadazical CSRs and overzealous PR Reps who protect the real programmers like a roman phalanx. Hell their Wpnsmith correspondent called me a Troll! I maybe, but its not in his place to label me.
When you cut through alltheirflamboyant prose and flashy promotions, they arejust abunch oflinear thinkers.Excuses is about all they are good at doing on a daily basis to hide their lack of creativity. Have you heard the one floating around the weaponsmith forums, about the locked FWG5 crates by his high and mighty, Thunderheart? I don't care if the gun killedrancors in one shot, locking crates is a bad practice forthe entire crafting community, especially if its done through stealthy nefarious means.
I digress, so let me refocus on my sea weed dragging and dropping, inventory is nearing 60.

So from the perspective of someone who made vehicles and would've made kits...
I have not bought a kit yet and probably will not unless it length of customization is long enough to be considered permanent. I will buy kits to change my bike to suit my fancy, but I will not buy them because they run out. It's just a waste of money (depsite the fact that I have a lot, I still don't like to out and out WASTE it) and more importantly time.
Now, if the customization were permanent, I'd probably buy a kit every two weeks or so..just because.
I got my Droid Compartment schematic and have only used 100 of the 1000 uses.![]()
And I'm even seperating them into 1/crate and sticking them on misc/factory crate to catch more eyeballs. Not many people look at ALL the tools at once. 200c/charge, so I have been selling them for 1400c, 1500c with a premium of course.
They stopped selling about 5hrs before the Geo patch went into affect, tho. I don't see another boom. I saw a vehicle customization skilltape +1 though on bazaar. It didn't sell, who customizes vehicles in armor? LOL!

The tools are already in the same boat as the droids are. When something wears off so fast, just 20 "pulls" from the data pad, people won't bother with them. Especially with them STILL auto-storing, sometimes frequently. It's a really nice idea, but that aspect made it as useful as putting a screen door on a submarine.
