I eventually remade all of mine to +14.88 when I found really good resources.

I did some small tests a while back, using a specialy made, realy bad tool (1% on experimentation screen) and a good tool (84% experimentation, +11% efficiency).

I'd cut and paste the results I posted out on SWcraft.com, but they're still having server issues. But to sum it up, while the test I did was too small to be conclusive, it did show a trend that the better tool did get more "great" and "Amazing" successes, fewer of the medium types of failures (forget the wording right now), but about the same critical failures.

You can look it up when SWcraft.com comes up, I may also re-do the testing with a larger sample one of these days.

I have 999 conductive material and I was able to make 14.97 tools (99% effective). I think 15 is the highest possible.

14.94 for all my tools, using that copper on Chilastra (yeah. 4 heavies on a 94% spot..yay is me!).

Weapon repair kit, 14.84 and that was with on crit fail during experimentation, so it could've been higher, but that was good enough for me.

Okay, not to throw a monkey wrench into this discussion... but I felt the need to bring this up to you all. For those of you who have these awesome tools (boy do I envy you lol), how many of you have personal crafting stations in your house? If you do have the stations, I might suggest that you check their functionality ratings as well.

I say this because a friend of mine almost gave up crafting because of some really bad stations. He was having lots of crit-fails and poor experiments and scads of other problems and was telling me that he was going to "throw in the towel". Something just didn't sound right to me as he explained his problem.... so I went over to his house and examined his Crafting stations. You would not believe what I found! They all had a -14.88 functionality rating on them.

Apparently, the Architect who sold him the four stations (Food/Chem, Weapon/Droid/Gen, Armor/clothing and Structure) told him that they were the "Best" on our server! I can't tell if maybe the guy just didn't know what he was talking about or fibbed to get my friend to buy 'em. But, as a fledgling Architect myself, I decided to try and make replacements for my friend. With the 750 conductivity copper that was available on our server and my 11 General Crafting experimentation Points, I was able to crank out four stations with Functionality Ratings ranging from +8 to +12. When they were first assembled, before I experimented on them, they were at -14.88 Functionality rating.... having witnessed similiar instances since then (I've made over 25 different crafting stations now) I can safely say that experimenting on them is a must and the higher the functionality rating for Crafting Stations, the better it is for you. It really does make a world of difference. We did a little experiment: I crafted several things using his crummy -14 stations and then the same things with the same resources and tools on the +14 stations and I had a significantly reduced rate of failures (critical and otherwise).

So, in closing, please, please, PLEASE go check your home crafting stations! They may be bad ones!

Thanks for hearin' me out!!
