Then you're doing something wrong because I have had this skill for quite a while and I definitely get a much larger area. There are so many numbers crammed onto the screen that they overlap.
However, I didn't get this added range until I got FS survey 4, tho.

That was not how it worked for me, I now only proport to speak on this from my experience.

Additional resouces and no additional range.

I've been going since the first phase 2 and, even with skiping for months at a time, I'm on my 13th unlock (still not Jedi either, by choice). The survey was the first tree I mastered. I almost completely dropped Artisan in that time and went back up again so I should have seen the the effect the way your are talking and I didn't. My alt (A non-FS MArt to this day) was my referent here. I used both characters to survey and sample (often on a multi instance to sample next to my extractors) and saw no difference. It may be because I was using the inorganic survey devices from the villageorsimplya stupid issue that only bothered my character (which I've had certain things that happen only to one character and not the other so I wouldn't be horribly suprised).

I don't mean to confuse.

At one point I was MArt as I bought each of the levels of FS Survey. I was a MDoc/MArt/MMerc and used the Survey xp to supplement the Med xp trade and Merch xp trade so that I was always getting Senses xp. I was getting more resources with the FS Survey as I got 2 boxes, and therefor more xp persample,so I kept buying it. Admittedly itt was only 2k FS Senses traded, but the faster I capped the more I was getting. That and I was getting resources too.

I saw no difference on the display at that point (as in being larger then Survey 4 in Artisan Tree). [Alt MArt as well through all of this].

I then some time later dropped all Merchant and Artisandown to Novice Art.

Display was most likely larger then was available at Nov Art but for sure I was getting more resources then previously.

Then in an attempt to get 2 of my 4 crafting trees restarted I reground MArt (as to make speeders which were the most efficient crafting items for speed, though not resource use obviously). My alt was still a MArt and the survey area shown on the display was the same between both.

I wanted the crafting for the Meds, but with Doc and CM losing all crafting in the CU and a respec to BE being wasteful (the points don't transfer well) I decided to completely drop all crafting again.

At this point I'm MD/MCM/MMed FS Sense 0444, FS Combat 0200 with 3 mil+ Senses xp banked, 2 mil Reflex banked, 2 mil Combat banked and 700k Crafting banked (man those resouce costs and nothing but Adv BEC to craft!).
