Thread: FOURTEEN experimentation points in publish 10?

I have created a decent amount of Artisan items and I can't see where 14, 15 or even 12 points will make a difference at all. I have 11 points as a human Master Artisan and find that practically everything I make is limited by resources and not by my points. I think the only thing that I have run across that would use the extra points is CDEF's. Is there something else people use that I am missing that requires experimentation?

I can see the benefit of UBER CDEF's but people move on from them so fast, it's not really worth worrying about.

Now... the other professions it can make a big difference when it comes to Weapons, Armor or even Architect or DEsince they have multiple lines that can be experimented on. Having damage maxed out and condition increased can make a difference in sales. The other benefit is that you can be more sure that you will be able to max a line out better. You won't be short that one little bit at the end. Right now there is a big difference between 10 points and 12 points. To add 2 more points in there could unbalance things more than the devs think.

One more side note. GreenMarine said that they may not do 2 points, that they might make it only +1. They have to see how it balances out.

Except you won't be able to make those Stims you list because you already are maxing out power with only 10 skill points. Same way with weaponsmiths - a 14 point weapon will do no more damage and be no faster than a 10 point gun because damage/speed is already getting maxed out (accuracy or HAM costs will be slightly better on the 14-point weapon). What you would get as a doc is more charges as that is the second line of experimentation when power is maxed out. So a 10-point doc makes 409/42 Stim Bs and you make 415/48 Stim Bs with the exact same resources. Yes, the ones you make will sell for more (at least 15% more due to the charges), but the other person can still compete. Most other professions are the same way. As long as most of the experimentation bonus comes from a single experimentation line, the 10-point crafter can max it out.

The exception to this is chef food and some droids, where multiple lines of experimentation are of near equal value. A 14-point chef and a 10-point chef may make identical 425 power brandy, but the 14-point chef might have 8 more minutes of duration or 10 less filling or some similar benefit.

okay, granted, lol, i wrote that in a hurry, but still, more points = less varity in products, which i really really feel is a bad thing for the economy.
