Thread: Crafting tool effectiveness?
You want resources with high conductivity. So if you are using steel that has an overall quality of 800+ but has a conductivity of 5 then you won't get a very good tool.
A lot of times I'll build tools using copper because it tends to have higher conductivity than steel.
You can see what material stats are important by looking at the schematic. It will list how different resource stats affect the quality of the finished product and expirementation. Then you just look for materials with those stat requirements and you can ignore everything else.

All I can say is the devs are aware of this issue. I am optomistic that I will have more information I can share in the future.

The good old effectiveness debate, well for me I used to have tools that were -6 and now I have 13.98 and they seem to have more crit fails than my negative tools did. Some days I will craft all day with little more than 1 or 2 crit fails, then the next day i will have 3 in a row than another 2 final crit fails and Im a master artisan and master DE.
What worries me is that a dev will not come forward to dispel any of these rumors, there are pages and pages of some heated debates, but not once to my knowledge has a Dev come forward to say yah or nay on the issue. This leads me to believe that it is based on the resource shifts style, one day you have a good percentage of crafting then say the next day you have a higher percentages of fails, I think its just random. I could be wrong and love to be told that I am wrong but have yet to hear from anyone with authority on this issue. It really makes you wonder considering that 5 or 6 professions would be really intrested in this answer, but have yet to hear anything.
I havent read the boards in the last few days so maybe this issue has been addressed and Im a dumbass if so my apologies.
Agreed. I think your doing an excellent job as well Bianca. Ihave seen a vast difference in the artisan forum since your arrival. Progress is a beautiful thing.
About the crafting tool.. I would also love to get a definitive answer on this. So many things weigh on us knowing exactly how they work and how to achieve the best results. The only thing that I have noticed is the amount of crits is noticably less when I use my 7.78 effectiveness tool over my -12.98 effectiveness tool. But I dont think this is really news to anyone..lol..
