oh and btw, it would take 2 medium harvesters to harvest the ammout of resources a player can while SAMPLING. Hmm there seems to be a problem there. The terms sample vs harvest.... Maybe the player skill should be harvest and harvesters should sample, because they do not produce enough resources to be called harvesters(only the heavy do and they are grossly expensive).

Ahh the old, worn out 'sampling is faster than harvesting' argument. You stand and sample 1 resource for the same amount of time my 6 harvesters are going on differerent resources and then argue this point with me. No, it doesn't cost more...it actually costs LESS to use the harvesters because they pay for themselves. Plus I can run missions and make money while you are stuck standing in one spot. You obviously haven't figured this out yet, but don't fret...someday you will. Thanks, come again.

The infinate loop macro works. It still pops up the dialog box, but if you stand and then sample again the the dialog box become ineffective. Now when you finally get back to the game you will end up having a large number of these boxes on your screen and you will have to close them, but oh well. I know this works becasue I got 10k steel yesterday doing it.

On a side note, why can I gather more resources doing afk macro, then my medium harvester can do in 2 days? Just a thought.

Because you're not supposed to be AFK macroing would be the simplest answer to that question.

I don't need 6 different types of resources. I need 2 different types of resources, metal and fiberplast. I currently have 2 harvesters on one type and then I sample for the other. The difference, the 2 harvesters don't even keep pace with me. Maybe once I hit master tailor I will find that harvesters are much better than macroing but until then, they are not.

With the new missions I'm finding it may be alot easier to shop for resources at 3-4 creds/unit than it is to macro sampling. 3000 creds in 5 min. Roughly 1000 units in 5 minutes, so after an hour your looking at about 10k .

Well, I am not saying the rate of harvesting is greater than that of sampling--it isn't. But I think that's because the devs never intended for afk sampling to happen--ideally sampling would be done at lower levels, and eventually the player would move along to harvesting. People being connected all day was apparently something they never thought of. The EULA states that "You may not decrypt or modify any data transmitted between client and server; you may not use or distribute macros or other programs which would allow unattended game play. " That's pretty specific, you can see it here under item 7 if you think I'm taking this out of context: http://starwarsgalaxies.station.sony.com/content.jsp?page=Policies%20EULA

Every macro allows for unattended gameplay. Why would they even have macros in the game then? The reason they put macros in was because they developed this game with a pretty bad user interface. I mean without short cut keys or macros how many clicks would it take to make a tailor item?

Anyways, the point I was making was they broke macroing sampling. Not necessarliy unattened macroing, but lets say I want to grind my 20k fiberplast and 20k metal, I would usually sit on a spot that has 90+ of either fiberplast or metal to gather resources as I go. Now with this lame new window it would have stopped my ability to do so, if I didn't out smart the programmers.

So, Take away the lame window, and Kick AFK people.

Well than that means you can't play SWG at all as it allows unattended game play.
