Thread: The surveying nerf, how to beat it?
Survey your cities outskirts near the boundary, find the highest concentration of material you can find, 80% or more works best. Then go to a mission terminal at least 512m away from the spot and select a pair survey mission targeting that kind of resource, wash, rinse repeat as needed until you are adequately funded.
Brilliant use of mission selection.

Ok so no way around it, i know of harvesters that isn't the way around it! it's just and alt way to get the items. If anyone does find something make a new post!
An 'alternate' way? Lemme get this straight, are you saying that you thought sampling was supposed to be a viable long-term way of gathering resources? Harvesters are the way resources were intended to be gathered. Why do you think they called it 'sampling' and not 'gathering'? Because it's intended for people to sample the material, see if they like it and drop a harvester. Sorry bud, even if you get a workaround, it's only a matter of time. My suggestion: buy a wind generator and one harvester. Place them close for a couple days, become amazed at how little work it is and then work your way up to more serious production levels.
I don't understand the problem here.
I AFK macroed over 2000 units of copper for hours just today. The pop ups popped up, but they don't stop anything... I got back to the computer and had 2k units and about 15 pop ups that I had to close...
They just keep popping up, but they don't stop my sampling.
For those who are suffering from the surveying nerf and are forced into harvesters and generators, pay VERY close attention. There is currently a combination of post-patch mechanics and existing resource distribution that I used last night to generate over 40,000 credits in just over an hour. Its commonly known that minerals and such are distributed through the cities themselves. There is almost always a high concentration of some material or another available. Survey your cities outskirts near the boundary, find the highest concentration of material you can find, 80% or more works best. Then go to a mission terminal at least 512m away from the spot and select a pair survey mission targeting that kind of resource, wash, rinse repeat as needed until you are adequately funded. Note I am a novice creature handler as well as a novice carbine marksman, so my missions pay out 1000-1800 for the most part. Grab two at a time and they both pay off at once. One hour of hard work and you can be running for a week or more to get the resources you need.

I wonder how long until someone starts crying exploit on this one?
Perosnally, I've been doing this since artesan terminals went live. GREAT way to keep up with harvester maintenance.
Only one catch, do a quick sample first. If you get the message about the density being too low on a 80% and above patch, it's a new resource and survey missions willNOT pay you for that resource.
True, but if you really need the money, its no big issue to log out and back in, the mission should still complete once you are reset within the system.
