Go to your nearest starport and find the NPC ship builder. Pay to have him build you the ship. This will put a new item in your inventory. Right-click and select generate ship. This will put the ship in your datapad. Go to the Starship terminal and select your new ship. Then select manage, and put in components. At a minimum, you need a reactor and engine to fly and to hyperspace. If you don't have components like capacitors, shields or weapons, check the bazaar, or buy some from a shipwright. I take it you are still a novice pilot, so you will only be able to use level 1 components.

To make it space-worthy (flyable) you need at least a reactor and an engine (hyper drives are built into all engines, you just don't get them on starter ships).
Here's a shopping list of components to get:
1. Reactor - Supplies power for your components to use
2. Engine - Allows your ship to move and use hyperspace (press H to pull up nav map)
2. Engine - Allows your ship to move and use hyperspace (press H to pull up nav map)
3. Armor (Front) - Front armor to protect your ship in the front.
4. Armor (Rear) - Rear armor to protect your ship in the rear.
5. Shields - Used to Protect your armor.
6. Weapons Capictor - Supplies energy for your blaster weapons
7. Blaster - Blaster Weapon (primary weapons)
8. Droid Interface - used for R-series droid (Z-95, Y-Wing, X-Wing only) or flight computer
9. Droid/Flight Computer - Can burn programs onto chips and place them in droid or flight computer to help manage ship functions.
10. Missle launcher - used to launch missles
11. Countermeasure launcher - countermeasures will counter missles
12. Booster - Gives your ship a boost of speed can be turned on and off using the B button
Now keep in mind the light syck is a light fighter and has little mass. All of these components have mass so you won't be able to load your ship up with EVERYTHING. At a min you should have the reactor, engine, front/rear armor, sheilds, blaster weapons, a capicator and a booster. You don't really need a flight computer and interface until you train the first droid box. Countermeasures are not necessary at lower levels. Missles are nice to have if you can squeeze them in, but, not a necesity.
Good luck.

There is a sticky post at the top of this forum that begins with "READ ME FIRST..". You might actually read it, it helps. I promise.

just wait my friend. in the past, I would say as quick as 1 server restart cycle between the old man and the sith attacks. but now that we don't have daily maintenance, I don't know. just wait a couple days, and play the game as you normally do. make sure most of your time is in the wilderness ( the best way is just getting buffed, and going out and doing your regular missions for either money or XP), I was on Yavin IV doing my chuka missions for the meat harvesting for some docs, when the siths came out and attacked. Just be patient bro, that is one of the main virtues of being a Jedi.

Both times (for both my accounts) the old man come to me in my player city. Strange enough at almost the same spot.

So I finally got inv 3 and decided to take my first Jedi mission, just to kind of get the hang of it. Picked up the mission went to several Informants - they all told me the same thing - "Whoa I can't handle that blah blah blah." Is there a specific informant that I need to speak with for dealing with jedi missions?

That will tell you everything you need to know.
I'm a dork. The second one I headed to was only a level two informant. Sorry to waste your time. I can't function as normal human being. Someone throw a towel over my head. I'm gonna go crawl back under the rock I came from.

Ok, whats going good with ranger now? Was Swordsman, but well, thats not working out with sps now. I have been working on my jedi, but thats a lost cause and I give up. So, its back to the ranger life till they fix jedi.

Not much going on with Ranger presently except that our lobbying for combat level was successful. We dont get anything else good just yet. We dont have any great defenses or anything like that. Lucky to have maskscent and camo working honestly.
So, we wait for the Ranger revamp in six months.... As usual.
