Thread: Who Crafts a Shoe? I Mean, Really!

Hey I am sick of crafting shoes to give myself crafting experience. Any suggestions as to what crafted items are useful to others? If you have any ideas, please provide them and list what is required to make that item (like tools, resources, etc), what level of Artisan is required in order to create the item. How much it would cost if made with 60,70,80,90, and 100% resources, and any other useful information you might think would help (like the experience amount yielded to the crafter).

This will help to get more usefull items out there on the market and to provide more supply to those who need it. Thanks.

Okay, I found that title of your post very funny. Thanks for making me laugh.

As for what to build that people want... Quick hints on that:

- Check the Bazaar for what others are selling (though that can be a crapshoot)

- Craft what YOU want. (Do you really need 300 shoes? How about a nice GUN? or some survey tools?)

- Be reasonable with your bazaar prices (If you craft crap. Charge like crap.)

Ummm, maybe that will help?

I just started my artisan character on bloodfin. I was clueless about what to craft. I thought it would be kind of cool to craft a simple shirt, but make it black. I made 2 of them and put them on the baazar for 200cr each. And to my pleaseant suprise I got 2 e-mails about 2 hours apart saying that I sold them. I was so happy. So happy in fact that I instantly became Special Ed: I sold my shirt...YAAAAY!!! I sold my shirt...YAAAAY!!

I'm in the same boat Necriscoth. As a novice artisan you just can't make all that much. I split my crafting time between cranking out bofa treats and making simple clothing. I use practice mode on the bofa treats (let's face it, they taste awful and no one wants them). I sell the simple clothing on the bazaar for pocket money. I also crafted all my own survey tools.

You'll want to invest in some personal harvesters as soon as you can. They aren't terribly efficient, but they can start an income stream for you. I use about 10% of my harvested resources for crafting and sell the other 90% on the bazaar. As I advance up the Artisan tree these percentages will reverse I'm sure.

Thinking back, I also danced a happy dance when I made my first sale.

Basic black anything almost always sells Something else to try is see what other people AREN'T selling that you can. A lot of the time if you're the only one selling a certain item, chances are it will get bought. I know starting out I sold many a fishing pole...

if you can only make stuff that no one will buy, which at pre-master artizan is pretty much everything, try doing it on preactice mode. u get 5% more xp and dont feel like u need to sell it all. i made enough guns to fill my previously empty house. then destroyed them all as no one will ever want them. if u want money sell the resources you willmake more.

if u want xp, then do practice mode. try experimenting at a station aswell that will help.

i started practiceing than i just gave the guns to noobs to use or sell or pick their noses with. you will feel good as they are always greatfull.

the one thing you can make that will sell is is harvester. as the non artizan players that want them cant make them. i find mineral ones work best, or floral ones for medics. i sell lthem for about 800 as most are on sale for about 1k so i under cut them, and garuntee the sale.

check the bazza in your area and server to see what there is not much off. and go into the biggest busiest laggiest city you can.

good luck

oh 1 more thing

i kept alot of my grind harvesters so i just let them fall apart and use them up untill the last minute. i have so may i can afford to do this.

Agree, and I found starting out that CDEFs actually sold well for me. Also, crafting tools sell and give the best xp at Novice - pretty sure - and once you hit Engr 3 you can make personal harvesters which also sell - at a loss but they still sell - and give you the optimum xp/time of anything you can craft.

Yes- I found that making harvesters helped me in two ways- first, I could sell some, and I could keep some for my own use. I think I still have one or two around somewhere- I made a *lot* of them.

Clothes sell pretty well. Only problem is color. Black and White seem to be sold the fastest.

Harvesters, good one sell very well, adn they make good xp anyway.

Weapon powerup, if the market isn't flooded, sell well if you experiment and have good ressources.

Huh. I still make CDEFs and put them on the bazaar sometimes. They often auction for 1k or more, surprisingly. I use only the best resources, and my CDEFs average above 55 max hp. I think it's slicers that are buying them... but I don't have an 'agreement' with anyone. For a minimum price, I calculate 5 times the max hp of the weapon, and put them on for a two day auction.

I still have some clothing on my vendor that I made less than a weekafter I started. (Don't ask me why I haven't destroyed it, I don't know...) At one point, I had the price on them down to 30 credits. Then I started raising the price again, and for a wonder, some of the stuff sold after I kicked it up to be comparable to other clothing I see on the bazaar... so don't underprice your stuff either. People will assume its garbage, and won't buy it.
