Good letter Guru, but I'm curious why you didn't send our list of Top 5 fixes &Top 5 improvements needed for the profession.

Hi,
Here is the note I posted regarding this issue. I will let you know when I get something back.
Two issues are bubbling up:
1) Any word on the Vehicle auto-repair bug? The bug where if you leave your vehicle out, fly off planet, store it, generate it, and it is fully repaired.
2) Enhance Master Artisan: Right now, there are no benefits to being a Master Artisan aside from new schematics. All our assembly and experimentation points are achieved by Engineering IV and Domestic Arts IV. We'd like to see more perks with Master Artisan.
One popular suggestion, and one I'm in favor of, is to give Master Artisans a boost to their survey range. Allowing us to survey greater swaths of land per attempt would be a welcome perk and provide a lot of ease in terms of chasing down those ever more important high-end resources. In light of the experimentation changes coming in the next published, with the increased emphasis on quality of raw materials in the final product, giving Master Artisans the ability to more easily find and harvest resources would add more interest in this skill.
I thank you,

because most of the fixes you all want will get addressed when the elite-counterpart professions get fixed.
I am SOOO glad to hear the 1024m issue is being pressed.
Surveying is the ONLY, and i repeat... ONLY unique thing that Artisans do.

Mostly because I have not yet finalized the Top five lists. The posting I shared with y'all is a post I made in a 'current issues' thread where the correspondents get to champion one or two 'hot issues'.
I'm still learning the ropes of how correspondents interact with the developers. There isn't a FAQ for that. :-)
My plan is to post my draft of the top five fixes/enhancements in the thread at the top. Y'all get a chance to critque, then I will move it along.
Take care,

After the fiasco with the experimentation changes I'm hessitant to persue this any further. I think the Devs are in a balance mode where anything they do they have to make somethingrelated weaker. SoMasters could get (needed and deserved) boost to survey range and find that they decided to change the way resources spawn making the increase useless.
I'm not a pessimist I'm a realist.

I think your right to be realistic here. Sometimes we do get carried away with these improvements. And i would certainly prefer to have the resource avaiable and harder to find, than the alternative as you mentioned.

I'd agree with this balance....better survey range for master artisans, but distance between spawns becoming greater. The net result would be the Artisans who have devoted a decent amount of points into Surveying, and particularly MA, will have about the same end-results. The ones who will have their effectivness reduced will be the Artisans with none or maybe 1 box in Survey. I've always thought finding stuff to be too easy. Heck, I'd go for a better, more dynamic resource shifting system where 80% of all the stuff the galaxy see's does NOT show up on 5 or so planets. Maybe the most cross-spawning would see 3 planets with a resource. Make the discovery of a great resource an Event, and one that will pay off in a product that is better than your competitors. Let there be some variety in the crafting game.
