i just noticed (im new to artiasan though i usd to be an engineer) that whenever i start a crafting session, and am waiting for the item to be outputted, then start another session on another crafter, when my first item is done the crafting session on my second crafter ends automatically. this has resulted in lost time and resources for me.. tell me this is a bug.. i know im a holo crafter, told master chef, but this just doesn't seem fair.

I am also new to artisan and have this happened. I don't have a factory yet so making lots of items I figured I would use several crafting machines at same time. However, like you I found that when one finished it closed the other ones I had opened. Not sure if this is a bug or it is supposed to be this way.

I have found that when i use two different types of crafting devices this will happen, but not when i use two of the same.

THe odd thing is, when i was crafting camps last week on the way to ranger, i ddint have this problem, regardless of the crafting tools i used. Also, last night i was crafting with multiple crafting kits, no problem, but today it seems all messed up.

I have only seen this happen when crafting crafting tools, pay attention to what you are crafting and see if it only happens with specific items.

I was just going to say that I was having the same problem, but when you mention the crafting tools, I realized that might be what it is. I'm grinding those, trying to get my last little bit of exp. out for Architect. I'll look today and see if anything else makes the session fail.

It's something that is not specific to the tool or what you are crafting. I have an artisan on Intrepid that can use multiple tools with no problem and a artisan on naritus that has the same thing happen to her when she tries to grind with multiple tools.

Did you really have to triple post?

And if what you said is true, that they put it in intentionally, then it's not a bug, it's a feature.

So just craft something else... personal harvesters are a much faster grind than crafting tools, anyways. And if you simply MUST grind crafting tools (after all, you don't get the personal harv. shematics until Engineering 3), then just don't do them in practice mode. The "bug" only occurs when you choose practice mode, at least that was my experience when I was grinding through the first few boxes of Artisan. Practice mode only adds 5% (I think?) to the exp., and when you're doing something like crafting tools, that doesn't really amount to a whole lot.

Is this an unfair discrimination against the non-combat (read: crafting) professions? Yes and no. While it's true that no similar handicap holds the combat professions from "power levelling," the fact of the matter is that you can grind your way to Master Artisan MUCH quicker than you could Master Brawler or Marksman (so long as you have the resources available). Now, what if I don't have the resources available? you may ask. Then this "advantage" we (the crafters) have over others (the fighters) is non-existent, if not backwards, you might say. Well, then I sumbit to you that you should not be "grinding" your way through any profession unless you are Holo-driven. (This is why we have "Master" Artisans that don't know the difference between a Generic Crafting Tool and a WDG Crafting Tool.) And if you ARE Holo-driven, then you should be rich enough that you can afford the resources needed to grind to Master Artisan. Or at least smart enough to know that grinding 5 professions (almost certainly one of which will be a crafting profession) is not for someone with only 5k credits in the bank.

That is the nature of the system the Dev's have assigned to us. Obviously, it is a flawed system; the Dev's have admitted as much by announcing they are soon going to change how the FSCS is opened.

Bottom line is this: yes it sucks that some Dev thought this was a good idea. But it is not the end of the world. Either craft something else (I cannot stress enough how good personal harvesters were to me when I was grinding my way to Novice Weaponsmith), or take off practice mode.

Oh and for God's sake, please don't triple-post again.

True true, no I didnt have to triple post, my enter button is simply faster than my mind, sorry. I hope you weren't too hurt by that...jeez.

Yes you can level faster IF you are a veteran or more established player who can get the fairly sizable amount of metals and ore for the harvesters, but if you were a newby this would be a different story. Agreed I got through it in less than two hrs once I got eng 3 but you can imagine what newby artisans are thinking with the steep resource prices on the bazaar.

Is it the end of the world, no of course not. However does that make it ok? I say no. Just because I could get through the skills in one night doesn't mean I shouldn't care about others, especially when the logic behind it is so assbackwards.

I'll have to test this out. As a master tailor (though not leveling up at the moment) I often (and recently) have 4 tools going at once when I'm restocking, and have never had this problem. I truly think that it has something to do with the items you are using to grind.

Are you using a macro? If so, does the macro contain /nextCraftingSession; 3 times? If it does, try putting it in only twice and don't stand next to a crafting station. I had this problem once, but took out that extra line, didn't have any problems after that. It could have been that or it could've been me making another item.

I noticed it when I was grinding out survey tools, but not when doing adv. biological controllers for med xp.

Precisely the reason why I take a moment to think before I hit the submit button. If I realize I have something more to add, I'll add it. If I realize I am not really contributing anything to the discussion, I'll delete my post and not reply at all. But no, don't worry, I wasn't too hurt by that. Though I am touched by your concern for my mental well-being.

Which brings me to the point of my argument: would you really want to play a game in which you could progress from "Total Newbie" to "Master of Some Profession" in one evening? As I see it, that is one of THEbiggest problems facing our beloved game today: we have so many "Masters," yet so little people who even BEGIN to understand all the intricacies of their chosen profession(s). Now, Holocrons are to blame for a lot of this, true... but not all of it. Just read some of the posts on the front page of ANY of the profession forums. I am seeing FAR too many posts that read, "Well I just mastered <insert random profession here>, and <insert newbie question here>." (For instance, http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=artisan&message.id=28682)

Now, I'm not saying that you should know everything there is to know about a profession before you master it, but I mean come on... 1 night for someone to go from complete newbie to Master Artisan (even if it is only a "beginner" profession)?

P.S. To whoever 1-starred me, I understand that people may disagree with me. I understand that I may even be wrong sometimes (indeed, so wrong to the point that I deserve 1 star. But you could at least respond to my post if you're going to give me a rating like that? Unless of course it was you Binstubbs...
