Thread: Another noob question

I have a macro set up -- runs pretty smoothly, but I frequently get a "you are already crafting" error message which I clear, and the macro resumes. It doesn't prevent me from using the macro - but does slow me down a lot.

I can't figure out why this is happening. Does anyone with macro savvy know how to fix this?

Thanks again,

You get that error when trying to use a crafting tool while you are crafting. It is possible that your macro uses crafting tools to frequently, so it uses one while it is already crafting. If you want a macro, try this:

1. Create 6 crafting tools and put them in F2 - F7 hotkeys

(using ctrl + F11 / F12 will cycle backwards / forwards through the different sets of hotkeys)

2. Open up your datapad, select the 'Draft Schematics' tab and count from left to right, top to bottom, starting at 0 until you reach the schematic of the item you are to create. Be noted that you have to skip all the schematics that you can't make with the tool you use.

3. Copy this, but change the xx to the scematic number you are to use:

/alias craft1 /ui action toolbarSlot01;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype
/alias craft2 /ui action toolbarSlot02;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype
/alias craft3 /ui action toolbarSlot03;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype
/alias craft4 /ui action toolbarSlot04;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype
/alias craft5 /ui action toolbarSlot05;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype
/alias craft6 /ui action toolbarSlot06;/selectDraftSchematic 154;/pause 5;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/nextCraftingStage;/createPrototype;/createPrototype

Note: It can be a good thing to save this in a text file to easily be able to change the schematic number for future use

4. Paste it into the chat box and hit 'enter'

5. Make a new macro, call it craft, and paste this into it:

/craft1;
/pause 7;
/craft2;
/pause 7;
/craft3;
/pause 7;
/craft4;
/pause 7;
/craft5;
/pause 7;
/craft6;
/pause 7;
/macro craft

6. Put that macro into the F1 hotkey.

7. Press F1, start macroing

Sidenotes:

1. The /pause 5; in the aliases is the time you have to put in resources you need, if you fail to put in all resources in that time I believe you loose the resources

2. If you change the /createPrototype to /createPrototype practiceNoItem (i believe it is like that) you will do practice items instead. You will not recieve any items in your inventory when doing so, but you will gain a 5% experience bonus.

Do I have to use a large contianer to make brandy (100 units of gemstone), Or can I use the small containers to do it (saving 90 units). Does it change the effects to use the small ones.

I know the anser is obvious, but who know, maybe I can use the small one. Please help!!

Also, does it matter the quality of ingredients used in alcohol?

Or does it matter the quality of water used in additives? I know the BE stuff is important, but what about the water?

Thanks again Chefs

can use any container for brandy. all it does is affect the amount you get out. large container can get you about 18-20, small probably around 4-5 (i'm not sure about the small).

quality doesn't matter for alcohol.

and i think the additives are completely dependent on the BE.

I've never used anything but casks in my brandy and with that i get 18 base use stuff (which seems the standard).

But the different containers do effect the stack size.

Yeah, you need a tailor to make the trims too (or get them to make you a schermatic). Also requires 150 units of Crystalline Gemstone.

When I open a survey tool interface, I seea list of all the things that I can survey for in the upper right of the interface. Is this list the same no matter where I am on a planet? Or does it only show resources that are available within a certain radius? Do I need to do some travelling in order to see more of the resources that are available on a planet at any particular time?

Thanks in advance.

Hello snoman321,

The list of resources is the same no matter where you are on the planet. The only thing that will be different each time you survey a particular resource is the concentration pattern. If there is no concentration within your survey range you will get a message saying so.

You'll definitely have to move around a lot to find the different concentrations and choose the best one (majority of the patterns will have a "peak" that you can follow).

Good luck,

-D

Just FYI, resources do "shift" periodically, so the list you see today will be different from the list brought up next week (or tomorrow). Not all types will be "in shift", and resource stats will change as well.

I am starting Smugg tomorrow and have no idea what I'm doing.
I will be doing a lot of PvP and am wondering if the Dirty Fighting tree is worth having fi you are a TK/Master Swordsmen.
Also if not... Is Slicing, FP selling, or spices more profitable? Or should I just forget about the whole thing and try something else?
