Thread: Question about the 100% Repair Tools

I have just started to craft the Armor, Weapon and Clothing tools. I have resource for it and the cond is 990. I have a artisan suit with +13 assembly and +21 expirement. The station i am using is 44.42 and the crafting tool is 15.00. I use the cake and the drink for assembly and expirement. I am not in a Research City. So far I have came up with 99% tools. What can I do to get the 100%. Is it better resources, do I need to be in a research city, or will the +20 assembly help me that much more ?? Please post any help you can give me and much thanks for responding.

The max. possible % during experimentation only depends on the Quality of the ressources, so you will need CD1000 for 100%

Why am I thinking 100% func tools was disabled a bit back....and all the ones around at the moment are actually from before that....

I think you're right. I think the only time that100% repair tools were ever possible was on "Patch Day." I know it's still possible to get 15.00 crafting tools, but I don't think you'll get a 100% repair tool even with 1000 CD material.


For those who don't know, "Patch Day" was a one day change to the crafting system in early 2004 during which it was possible to get better results than normal with lower quality resources. They had decided to remove the patch before it even went live, but they decided it would be easier to let the patch go through and then remove it the next day.

Is this true ?? Can anyone else verify that they had 1000 cond recently and it only crafteed 99% ??

I can confirm. I picked up some 1000 conduct copper and was making 99.99% tools

I have 1000 CD copper best you can make is 99.99999%

Spot on. For that day only, 100% repair tools were possible. I knew a lot of folks made schematics for them that day, so there are a few of these tools floating around still.
Even with 1000 cond. copper, the best repair tool you can make now is 99.9...%

Repairing an item is so random that the difference between a 99% tool and a 100% tool would be hard to see.

Repair is so broken that the difference between a 10% tool and a 100% tool would be impossible to see.


Functionality, skill mods, none of it effects the repair roll,
the only thing shown to impove it is the overall condition of the item
{repairing at 75% of full condition as oppossed to 25%}

Very true, but a 100% tool will bring you several thousand more credits than 99% ones. When I had 100%'s, I stocked a vendor with them for 10k each, keeping my 99% ones at 6k each. I sold every one of the 100%'s before the 99%'s went. It's amazing what people will pay for such a minor improvement.

100% efficincy tools can't be made anymore, even with 1000 stat ressource. Max efficiency is now 99.99999%


And yes, repair is very random, even with those good tools. Lost 3 new armor parts, fully socketed, on their first repair, 3 critical fails in a row.
