I just made a mineral extractor. What do i do with it now. Do i have to have a seperate structure to power this extractor? or can i use radio active material?

I don't own a extractor, but I think you can use a radioactive resource for power. You can also build a power generator if you want.

Here is the easy part. What to do with the extractor. Well, put it on a resource you want alot of (most people say start with steel because you will need it to build more extractors). Then put some money into it to pay for the maintainence costs and let it do its work.

how many credits should i put into it to start out. Will 1000 credits keep it rolling all day?

I honestly can't tell you. I would have been able to tell you, but I haven't been able to log onto my main character for about 1 day and a half. Right now my character only needs a little bit of 1 more resource before he can build one. Try looking around the boards for information on them. I got to one site, can't remember the name of it, but it had a calculator for it. Wait, here it is http://www.swgcraft.com/schematics.php?c=B
you will have to search the site because that link is to the schematics of almost every item in the game. I think it is under tools.

You can buy power from the bazaar some people sell it. Also you can build a power source Example... Wind Generators, Solar Power..ect. Once it produces enough energy you can harvest it out and put it in your extractors.

Personal harvester is 30 credits an hour you want to maintain it for, wind generator is 60 credits an hour.

Or 720 credits a day for personal harvester, 1440 credits a day for a wind generator.

Power costs for a personal harvester is 25 power an hour, 600 per 24 hours.

All of which consequently makes for some interesting math. I've got a meg and half spreadsheet working out all the details so far and still have to calculate in cost of letting them burn down compared to cost of deed pickups.

Getitng the materials to make extractors isnt a problem if you bite the bullet and dedicated 3-4 hours to it. After all, it will be worth it.

The problem is placing those suckers. In 3 hours I got enough resources to build 2 extractors and 1 wind generator. I went around surveying and found a good spot with like 80% concentration of a mineral I wanted. I tried placing the Extractor and was told I couldnt build there.

Quite frankly, thats a load of crap. It was quite far from town too so you cant tell me that its because its "too close to town." Thats bolony. What do they want? Do they want you to do? Walkto the middle of the freakin planet to place an extractor 50 miles away? The deeper you go into the bush the more dangerous its going to get too. No serious artisan/crafter is going to have enough skill to fight off the serious badd @$$ critters there are deep out there.

I'm interested in that spreadsheet, xaldin. Think you could host it somewhere and link to it?

I'm pretty new so I got a question.

I have 2 questions actually.

First, do harvestors run while you are not logged on?

Secondly, as an amatuer artisan, what jobs can I take? I am out of my league in anything that involves killing. And the delivery ones are normally not worth the time since they pay you only like 700 to walk like 50 miles out into the middle of no where.

Any ideas?

well, the trick to doing missions is grabbing a bunch that all end up in the same general area... i usually pick a mission, then pick a few more that all go the same direction (i.e.missions all going east)... that helps with them, since they're small amts of creds, but in addition to each other, come out quite profitable...

also, harvesters will take any resource as long as its 'energy' i.e. you can use energy (solar), energy (wind), energy (solid), energy (radioactive), energy (liquid), energy (gas)... not sure if there are any others, but as long as its energy the harvesters will take it... now i havent experimented with it, but i believe if you give enough energy to a harvester and then have that harvester harvest an energy source, you could use that energy to power other harvesters as well as continue powering that harvester... if it works, it'd end up being cheaper than running a wind generator...

Another question:
How much Energy do Mineral Extractors and Flora Extractors need per hour?

Hello, im having a problem placing my harvesters.

I have the deed but when i use the deed in the place i want, an error message comes up saying the building is not permitted here.

I wanna know if im doing sumthing wrong. I find a spot away from the city where there is a lot of steel, then in my inventory i use my deed but then the error message comes up.

Thanks in advance for any help.
