Made my first AV-21 Landspeeder a little bit ago. It's pretty cool looking. I do have a few issues though.

The schematic is a one time use item

In addition to the usual resources required for a vehicle (i forgot to write them down. it was about 3250 Ferrous and 1325 Non-Ferrous), it also used a one time loot drop Power Module or Unit. So there was no chance to make a Manufacturing Schematic.

I got paid pretty well for crafting it,but since i can't make myself one (andam risking crit failures) unless i get a schematic and power unit(s). I don't really want to use up all my quality resources on these. I'm considerig hiding my MA tag so i don't get overwhelmed with requests to make them.

I was worried about having a crit fail on it and ended up getting all great sucesses and 92% Durability (it came out 2892 hitpoints when generated).

I almost created it on practice mode (was grinding WS earlier) but luckily i was taking my time and noticed before i clicked the button...ROFL!

Forgot to check the deed before giving it to its owner. so not sure if it has more info then the other vehicles (if someone else makes one please check).

Its still only a single person vehicle which sucks, but is not really new news.

Not sure if it's the first one on Kauri, but it'sgotta be oneof the first on our server, no-one at the starport had seen one before.

All inall regardless of the negatives, it was fun crafting something new. Thanks Devs.

I had my friend Amor'e try to build one for me with the schematic I got for successfully completing the quest but unfortunately I don't have one of the power units. Where can these be found on the quest?

I'll ask the player that I made the vehicle for for some more specifics on the loot. It seems as if the vehicle schematic is obtained after completing all three quests. Not sure about the power unit.

Now that all of my friends are getting back to me, I hear the looted component is just a drop that is also part of the quest. There is a chance that it will drop from one of the mobs.

I also hear that each person in the group gets the schematic, and it can be redone, so as an artisan/merchant, I may have a chance of getting a schematic for myself yet!

Sounds sweet!

LOL about the almost practice mode thing...

What should we charge to craft this thing?

What should we charge if we provide the schematic AND craft it?

How much will those power cores sell for?

So in essense we don't get a new vehicle... The only people who have chance to get a new vehicle are the super combat types and we play grunt and assemble it for them...

The scematic is useless tous....

And this is the new content...

As a Entertainer/artisan I am seeing red now....

Thats it for me... This sucks

I agree with Mariki -- if this is a single-use schematic that only groups of super combat types can aquire, then as a Master Artisan my only involvement here is picking up a few credits for building it after-the-fact. I don't get a new vehicle myself. And unless I can find a group of super combat types, I don't get to participate in the Corellian Corvette adventure. Effectively for me -- zero new content, though I have an opportunity to make some money and gain some more general crafting experience.

And of course I'll be accused of being greedy if I don't build these AV-21s for free, since the combat types have already done all the heavy lifting ... all I'm doing is "clicking the mouse a few times" and most combat types thing I'm already a billionaire anyhow.

In the future, perhaps these types of special quests could be better tailored for individual professions, so non-combat types aren't excluded. Say that only combat types can embark on a certain path, only crafting types on another, and only entertainers on a third. If you're a bit of all three, it's your choice which path you'd like to follow -- but going down one precludes following the others. Give the fighters some uber weapon/armor loot, thengive the schematics to the crafters, who perhaps would complete a more puzzle-oriented quest, to keep things challenging but not exclude us completely by making it something only a group of combat-types could tackle. Technically we have "Artisan Mission Terminals" -- why don't we also have special events that crafters could benefit from? I really think the present system of rewarding fighters with schematics is proving largely unsatisfactorywith both fighters and crafters.

As far as I know, this is the only scematic that requires some rare unobtainable part from the craftor to create the item. They say they don't want to compete with the crafters by having better drop items then they could create but the did exactly that with this. Why even bother making it a scematice, so they can throw it in our faces? We can build it but can't have it for ourselves? Let them put it together themselves, why should I beinvolved.... I know everyone was looking forward to this new vehicle. I spent the last week harvesting the materials for them. This is a slap in our faces and I am so pissed off I don't even have the desire to log on. I don't even want to see an AV21 as I see it as a slap in the face to the craftors who can make them...

That's like going up to a Master Doctor and saying "Hey, I bought all the buff packs ahead of time...buff me for free."

I don't think so.

You earned the position "Master Artisan" you spent the skill points, you retain them in order to provide a service.

I would bet we could charge 500k to some uber leet doodz and they would pay it to craft it. (if you caught them right time and place)

More realistically you could get 100k ( I charge 40k for a swoop and I provide all the materials and craft it, then pay for the vendor skills/upkeep)

The problem is, a few noobisans will craft it for free or the 3cpu resource charge and we will be expected to match our neighbors practices.

I hate crafting.

I am one of those "uber combat types" who has devoted all his skill points to making an uber combat template. I think this development where you need a rare drop to make the speeder is ridiculous. Essentially, it turns artisans into sweatshop denizens. You can make the new speeder, watch the guy drive away in it, but you can't afford the product yourself. I just got my corvette badge today. We killed 70% of the mobs on that ship, and nobody got a speeder part (but we all got our schematics).

SOE has created yet another pointless time sink.

It's not rare.

It's in every "instance" of the corvette mission.

You don't technically have to kill anything to get it as it doesn't drop off a MOB.

Just do a little looking while you are up there.

Ever hear of RIS armor? Each piece (9 total) requires 3 looted items from high-end mobs... Giant Dune Kimogilla, Woolymander Harrower, Gurk King. And there's an optional piece that drops from another high-end mob, a Peko-Peko Albatross (think the giant peko's were big....)

oh, and there's an alternative for 2 of the pieces now.. but it drops off the Acklay in the Genosian BioLab.
