Thread: a quick question about powerups

Hello all sorry for asking such a basic question ( still very new started only a few days ago)

As I come up the ranks of artisan i have been mainly crafting weapon powerups. I just wanted to know where the good,so-so, and great ones are divided. I am on chilastra and from what i have noticed on monitoring bazaar prices they seem to run around the 10cred per 1% that powerup is giving. I.E. saw a muzzle for 300 creds that gave +30% to min dmg ( i would assume that as being a good/great powerup) also saw others adding 20-25% to similar stats for the weapons selling for around 200-250 creds. Currently I am still fairly low in the ranks and my skills so far have limited me to roughly a +15% to a specific weapon stat, I have listed them on the bazaar according to the scale of others selling of 100-150 creds, and I guess what i am getting at is are they really worth selling, or should i just save my listing cred charge and trash em and not bother selling until i am in the 20-30% range powerups.

What are your ideas/input?

If you are making quality powerups, even if they are in the 15% range, they will sell at that 10 creds * 1 point increase formula. There are plenty of people that need a boost but might only have 150 creds, who will settle for the lower one. The key is marketing. Put a good description in, buy up any that are under priced, relist them for the good price, and see what happens.

They'll sell, maybe not as quickly, but they will sell.

okay one other quick dumb question...

where do i find the quality of the item? after it is created i see the item name and the description as well as which stat that it modifies and how much it modifies that stat but I have yet to see where it has an OQ rating or just a quality in the item details. Is it during the crafting session while making the item?

sorry for the dumb questions, like i said i am still very new to this crafting system and I like to try to keep on the same page as everyone else.

Sounds like you are selling a bit low to me, at least compared to the market on Tatooine, Bria. Any powerups that give +32% to either min/max damage, or attack speed, I sell for 1k apiece. I can't seem to keep them in stock, all sell within 24 hours. Just my .02

1K for a powerup, are you exaggerating? I must be in the wrong town. Or maybe just selling for a lot less than I should be! I doubt I could move much on Corellia for that price though.

I've got some 995 OQ Lubricating Oil and some 989 TiAl that I use to make 99% Experiemental Efficiency muzzles. I price them at 501 in Bria.Naboo.Keren to make them stand out a bit. They sell pretty well for me. They give stat boosts of just over +33/+16.

Boy am I glad I read this thread. I've been cranking out power-ups in the 30% + (primary), 15% + (secondary) and basically giving them to my friends with thoughts of selling them for 50 credits or so.

At least I know that I can get 250-300 credtis MINIMUM for these suckers.

Who wants muzzles! Muzzles for sale!

Yes, definitely don't listen to the naysayers who claim powerups don't move. They obviously never made a good one. I get 250-300 for mine, and I think that's well worth the minimal amount of work I have to put into them. If I raise my prices, I'm afraid it will take a little longer to sell them, and I'll start getting bottlenecked in production. I just got an order for 20 of them that I'll need to make tonight...it's too bad we can't choose the stats boosted, I'll probably get over 100 until I get the stats I want, but at least I know those other 100 will sell easily too. The past couple of days I have been futzing with harvesters, the credit supply started getting low and I started wondering...will I need to become a fulltime delivery boy? Then I forgot...I had let my powerup market run dry. Cranked out some of those things last night, and my business is back in the black again! Anyone on Corellia needing a good powerup, I give bulk discounts!

Wow, I am priced far too low. I've been selling +25%-+30% powerups for 100-150 credits. It's 10 resources, at most it's a cost of 30 to me (though usually it's closer to nothing, since I sell resources as my primary form of income)

Maybe it's time for an increase...

okay thank you all for all your kind and informative posts I have recently partnered up with a RL friend of mine and we have started planting harvestors to supplement our combined efforts gathering materials... with the advent of practicing I may not be making powerups much til i get higher in rank as running a few missions every once in a while and selling excess materials harvested things are taking off pretty well... I just wanted to get some input on what everyone else thought powerups should go for and what people defined as "good quality" powerups. Its nice to see I am pretty close to being on par with everyone else

I wasn't exaggerating the prices, I used to sell the 32% ones at 500, until I realized that people will pay much more. =] I find it's the only thing I can make and sell as a master artisan, besides maybe droid batteries. I think I'll be selling alot more of those now that droids have been "fixed". Remember, I only charge the 1k for the ones that people want the most, min/max damage and attack speed. All the rest I let go for 500.

Not insane really. The cost in a free market is going to be driven by what the consumer is willing to pay. =] I took the time to find the quality materials, and combine them, along with experimentation. All in all not a bad deal, to relieve those poor fighter classes of the the excess cred that is bogging them down.

With my Job I sometimes can only login once every day or so. I would max out the amount of Powerups I have for sale on the Bazaar and I am always sold out when I log back on. I sell my Power Ups for 700-900cr (depending on stats)
