I'm a Wookiee on Starsider.

Why is it that I have a schematic in my datapad for a Bowcaster, but that schematic doesn't show up on either my Generic tool or my specialized Weapons, Droids, and General tool? -- even when I stand next to a public Weapons station -- as I understand it's supposed too.

Am I doing something wrong?

Also, just a comment about resources -- NO WHERE that I can find on Starsider is Quadranium Steel. Doonium Iron, yes, it's all over the place. Does SUCK come to mind?

You might need a private crafting station for this schematic, but I'm not sure. I bet that's the issue though.

Well, if I need a private station, that EXTRA sucks since that means a house, and I'm not ready to place that yet -- not to mention try to pay for one.........

That may be the issue, but on the schematic it doesn't list a need of a private station, just a station.

find a weapon crafter with a house/store...they usualy have a privet crafting station there or 2...they should mind u use it

I'm not an artisan but I am a wookie and I'm pretty sure you need a specialized crafting tool (weapon, droid, general crafting tool) AND a personal crafting station to make bowcasters. I see the schematic for bowcasters in my datapad but haven't really looked to see if I can make it but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it in my crafting tool. Never been near a personal crafting station to see if that makes a difference.

I do have the special weapon crafting tool, and standing next to a public station, definitely doesn't help -- so maybe it is the need to have a private station.

But, it's all moot since Starsider doesn't have Quadranium steel (I know other servers do, however).

Am a Wookiee on Starsider wanting to make bowcasters.

I have the schematic in my datapad, but apparently am not doing whatever it takes to actually use it, since the schematic doesn't show up on my Weapons, Droid, General crafting tool.

I've also stood next to a public crafting station to see if that helps -- and it didn't. Some say I have to use a private station. Is that true?

Or do I need special Weaponsmith training?

I am a Wookiee Weapons Smith. It only shows up in Weapon, Droid, General Crafting tool while standing next to my Personal Crafting station.

i made my first one yesterday. it has to be on a personal crafiting station (anyones-not just yours)

Once you make one you will find.......(unless u are a leet weaponsmith)

1. The damage is quite good, but not extravagantly better than rifles that were a lot easier to come by

2. The thing starts out with 100 condition. after using ot for 2 hrs, mine is at 57/100. it seems they are very fragile. since the schematic is so complex, you stand a good chance of damaging it on the repair if you are not a leet wpnsmith.

3. I Still love it

I plan on making one soon with top grade materials and do some experimentation-the main thing i see needing done is reducing attack time.

Actually, none of the above will work. A schematic is used with factories. Also, An item like the bowcaster requires components, you will need the schematics for those also. not to mention a factory.

The base condition of all crafted bowcasters is 100, not the 1000 of most other weapons. The highest I have seen someone claim to make is 110 or so.

As dropped bowcasters have base condition of 1000 this is clearly not fair to Wookiee crafters or fighters who want to use "the traditional weapon of Wookiees." I suggest, as a bowcaster crafter myself, that we all take screenshots of the stats of our bowcasters and send them in using bugtool.exe or, at the very least, complain via CSR reports or /bug. If you find a dropped bowcaster get the condition stats on that and send them in as well.

No one will fix this until Wookiees make enough noise that it is easier to fix it than to listen to our roars.

Word, these things are totally expendible! 100 condition points is gone in a day or three of fighting, it really should be fixed, considering how hard it is to make a bowcaster. I'll enter a bug tonight, anyone wanting a USABLE bowcaster should do the same, thanks for the comments. Is there any way to improve the conditions? I guess one could experiment with the Durability?
