Every night for the last four nights, the resources on the Eclipse server have changed drastically. Every day I go out to my harvestors expecting to find a good stock of materials to craft with. Instead I find that a few hours after I placed the harvester, the resources changed and is now unavailable on this planet. This has happened 4 nights in a row. The best was when I found a nice spot for Diwi reactive gas, the only place it still remained in the galaxy. I placed my harvester, put in 5k of maintenance and 2500 energy. I go to select what I want it to harvest...its not there. I check my scanner, its gone! In the 5 min it took me to place the harvester and set it up the%&$#ing gas ran out!!! I don't know if this is how the resources are supposed to work...but it SUCKS either way!!!

Im having the same problem on chilastra. Ironic that both are servers that keep going down for problems. Anyone on Bloodfin and Starsider having the same issues? This morning there are no ferrous metals and only 2 types of non-ferrous metals and one type of low-grade ore. To make matters completely worse, I travel to the peak of the concentrations (>70%) only to find that 'concentrations are too low to find a sample'. This can NOT be working as intended. They clearly mentioned migrating resources every couple WEEKS not 3 times a day. I think this 'reset' occures in conjunction with every time they reboot the thing. But the real question bears asking 'why arent the resource dice rolling good numbers?' they seem to just get worse .

- It's time the devs end the bitter fighting by giving the community a Non Jedi server. We have a few servers with TINY populations that could be changed to this ruleset. I support this idea because it punishes noone. - You can support it too. Click Here!

No it's a bug. I got the same thing yesterday. I ran my butt off to find a nice juicy 89% conc. of chloroplast to be told 'concentrations are too low to find a sample'. Cue much wailing and gnashing of teeth. The servers came down and when they came up again I could sample fine. I don't know if it was the fact that I logged off, or whether the server reset did the trick. If it was the server, I don't know if this is now fixed or whether it's just temporary.

Cheers,

When resources first cycle in they can't be mined by hand, but the harvesters can still pull them up.

As for getting screwed over by resource changes: it happens. All I can say is don't pay for more than 24 hours maintenance at MOST.

As the resource changes can happen when I'm off-line and potentially lose me 2 days power and maintenance, can anyone tell me if the resource change happens at a known time?

I've read some of the posts on artisan so be cool, I don't undercut, my resources sell for around 5cpu and I've never sold a speederbike for more than 10k profit (less than I would have made in the same time running missions).

To get sympathy I'll admit to chasing DE..........great choice.

Thanks for the help - Ignaba, Bria.

No, resources shift randomly. I actually had some steel shift on me today right after I retrieved everything from the hopper. One of my BER 10 mediums only had 2 units in it when I went back. I know it sucks.

BTW: When the resource shifts and the harvester shuts off, it doesn't consume power, only maintenance.

Well as everone else is living with it guess I should just suck it up!

I did spit the dummy a few times before I fully realised what was happening, **edit** devs and the usual whinge. Even argued with a friend about it, guess I owe him a drink!

Oh wel,, guess I just have to keep checking those harvs.

Actually, just check your survey tool. Odds are good if it has shifted out on 1 planet it has already shifted out on the other planets or is about too (Though it might not have ever been on the planet you are on). The definitive test is to just shuttle to the planet that your harvesters are on and opening it. If it is still listed, don't waste your time flying out to your harvesters.

On a related note, thank you for the Vehicles, Devs.

Jedi will be rare and difficult - No
Increased Dev communication - No
CU will balance combat - No
Most of the bugs from launch fixed - No
saintchuck will continue to pay - No

- I supported the CURB, the Devs and the attempt to make SWG a better game and have realized it didn't work so I'm quitting in less than 2 days and won't be tricked into coming back again. Trick me once, shame on you...

I've been keeping track of artisan resources (mainly minerals) on Corellia, Flurry for a couple of months now. One thing I've noticed is that some of the resources tend to switch out randomly during the week, but a large portion of them switch out sometime between Wednesday and Thursday of every week. I do my resource status in the mornings, and every Thursday morning seems to be a pain in the rear with all the resource changes.

This might just be my galaxy or even my planet on the specific galaxy, but it's definitely happening.

Has anyone else noticed that resources usually shift sooner on planets where that resources is heavily mined?

I have been sticking to planets with low population and seem to get more time out of a resource.

Then again, I may be looking into it too much.

Animal spawns last over 20+ days, usually. I don't think there is any set number. But,a good rule of thumb is 21 days.

BTW, I started a second character on Bria (Lynsana). Look me up and we'll kill some kreetles or something (if I'm on for a long time). This character will be strictly melee, though. No scout.
